What I do is I call grated cheese, sprinkle cheese because I sprinkle it on other foods such as eggs, sloppy joes and soup. Probably more stuff too, but I can't think of them right now, I am still drinking my coffee, lol
Do you call a food item or something else a different name? I guess it's a nickname
If so what? (other than a nick name for a person)

On myLot, I call hamburger "ground beef" because I'm never sure if people from other countries know what I'm talking about if I just call it hamburger. Same with sausage, I call it "ground pork". I think those are just alternate names.

@dfollin We buy ground turkey once in a while but I don't like it very well. The texture makes it not feel right in my mouth.

Thanks! I just started saying it because one time I couldn't think of the word grated, lol With either my skull fractures or my Fibro Fog, I forget words. So I could only think of I sprinkled it. So even after I remembered the word grated I thought sprinkle cheese was cool, so I kept saying it.

@dfollin ........I understand. For me it's age. I suppose that is how a lot of nickname came into being.

I like sprinkle cheese and it does sound so much better than grated.
Offhand I don't have any nicknames for food
