Trump is being mocked for wearing a blue suit to Pope Francis' funeral

World leaders and dignitaries were in abundance at the pope's funeral this morning and all appropriately wearing black in keeping with Catholic customs. . . except for Trump who was wearing a blue suit. Even Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy was wearing black. The dress code for men was a dark suit with a black tie. Trump wore a bright blue suit with a blue tie. That is rich for someone whose VP criticized Zelenskyy last month for not wearing a suit to the White House.
Melania was wearing black with a black veil. She should have forced her husband to dress appropriately but hey I guess she doesn't care as long as her monthly checks keep clearing.

I don't get it... Why does he keep making himself a laughing stock? It's like he's planning things to make himself look more ignorant.

@porwest Because the story you saw didn't zoom out. Trump was not the only one wearing a blue suit as SEVERAL photos of the event clearly show.
----------Did everyone else fall asleep, too? And what "news" source showed you those photoshopped pics?
Jim, you really should be in Trump's junk drawer. It's a shame Glorious Loser only cares about money and looks. If he didn't despise poor, average-looking people, you could easily be his Propaganda Minister.

I'll check out the details and the image, if it's still available on the story link that you posted. But I don't understand why he keeps behaving in such a way where he is the center of the attraction. He is the President of the US. Is he forgetting that? Why does he have to resort to such things for catching attention?
He has already done that on multiple occasions. And if it's not for catching attention, then it's really difficult to understand why he acts out of the way.

He probably knew the camera wouldn’t be on him full time so he had to make sure that he stood out.
I’m surprised he didn’t skip it for golf, although I’m sure that’s where he went before the closing prayers were said.

On our TV, most of the attention was on the service. We didn't really see much of the dignitaries.

He is not a fool to not understand the appropriate dress code. He just wants to catch media attention, be it for wrong or right reasons. And most of the times it is wrong reason.

@JudyEv That he does deliberately all the time with his looks, talks etc. He doesn't mind being mocked as long as he gets the attention.

@arunima25 I guess that is typical narcissistic behaviour.

I'm sure he just likes to stand out. There were two other men with Zelensky and Trump just before the meeting. I think it was the French president who only shook hands with Zelensky.

@porwest The dress code was dark suits and black ties for men. Not bright blue with a blue tie. Even worse was him texting, taking calls, and laughing with Melania while in the front row. Of course the most egregious offense was falling asleep with his mouth hanging open. But of course Karline Leavitt tell us how energetic he is.

@NJChicaa You are clutching at straws here. Prince William's suit was almost the same hue as Trump's, as well as others in the crowd. You are simply nitpicking to nitpick.
The issue isn't about Trump's suit. It's about Trump. He could cure cancer tomorrow and you'd find fault with it.
As for texting and taking calls...umm...unless you have forgotten, he is the President of the United States. That is a job that is without "time off." Not that I am saying it's appropriate. But how do we not know he was doing those things for good reason? He also did not do those things during the service itself. So, you're pretty much trying to latch that on to try to make a further argument against Trump's supposed lack of decorum.
