Monday and a New Work Week

Monday, Monday. The weekend is behind me or a long way ahead of me, depending how I choose to look at it. Today is back to work again. I sat outside for a little bit yesterday. I did not have any sun screen on and was wearing capris. I have a burn across both of my knees today. When will I learn to remember to apply sun screen? After work today I have to find the polling station and make my way over there. Today is our federal election.

I never wore sunscreen when I was younger, but I can definitely burn without it these days. I hope your knees heal quickly.

Diid it change location? I have had the same polling place for about the last 5 or 10 years, but it changed a couple of times before that.

Our station location changed, but I have a feeling it is because this was a snap election called without alot of notice and perhaps the station was already booked for another event.

@RebeccasFarm Although he is much older than our former Prime Minister, he is very intelligent and should help our economy greatly.

It is sore, but when I go to bed I will put some more after sun on it to help it from that burning sensation, it has aloe vera in it.

@Juliaacv I hope it helps you. I sunburned my lips last week when I was cutting the pampas grass back and now my lips won't stop peeling. I told Pretty and she asked if I wanted a lip balm to use. I asked if she had a new one that hadn't been used and she brought me one that is Mountain Dew Code Red flavored... At least it goes on clear.

One of the medications that I take make me more likely to burn, and age adds to that, but every year I see it is worse, but haven't gotten into the habit of using sun screen yet this year. Going forward I will.

@Juliaacv Yvonne has an antibiotic she gets prescribed that does not allow her to go out on the sun. Thankfully she hasn't needed any for the last couple of years. I had no idea age could make us burn more easily. But I think it's true. I am burned quite a lot just now. Red as a beetroot but turning brown

I hope the lines aren’t too long for you, but we both know it’s worth the wait to have our own say. I’m praying you have a blessed week full of joy and peace.

Our individual line up was 0, so both of us were able to present our voter cards and then cast our ballots. I appreciate your prayers.

Oh, girl, I've seen some bad burns in my years on this planet. I hope you learned your lesson yesterday. It's going to be another scorcher this summer.

@Juliaacv ........You might want to get some aloe vera. It comes in a gel and feels so good on burns.

@celticeagle I have an after sun product with aloe vera in it, and it has helped. But it was a nasty burn.

The burn remains, even after all that I have done. I woke a couple of times during the night with the sting of it.

After a while I will take a cool shower and apply some after sun, which is rich in aloe vera, that always takes the sting out of the burn.

Yeah I always forget to put sunscreen on too. Yesterday I wash clothes and hung them on the line. I also got some stuff I ordered. I also worked in my boyfriend's diamond painting.

I remember our Irish son saying that Canada was having elections. We did 'early voting' today. I'm glad we're finished with it for the moment.

Yes, we had an election yesterday. The new Prime Minister is Mark Carney, he has worked as the Bank of England Governor as well as the same for the Bank of Canada. I hope that he is able to balance our books and help our economy, especially given the times that we are living in. He is much older than our previous Prime Minister was and I hope that he is up to the job.

Yes, and it is going to be a very tight election. I look forward to the results, but there will probably have to be a recount due to the closeness that they expect the results to be.
