Long Day is Done

You’ve all been through a day like today, so I won’t pretend I’m the first one to ever have “one of those days.” I’m glad it’s over. There were lots of blessings, believe it or not. We had a lot of memories and stories swapped between cousins at the funeral home, many of which got “oh, I know it” nods from other family members. That’s family for you. It was good to see cousins that I hadn’t seen in a long time, even with the most undesirable reason bringing us together. My brother’s surgery was fine. The nerve block hasn’t worn off yet. I’m sure his screams of pain will register on the Richter scale when it does. My niece and sister in law had a good visit in the waiting room during his surgery. I told my brother if they wanted him released at the same time they wanted him there this morning, then he can just WALK home. One more time, let me thank you all for both your condolences for the death of my aunt and the well wishes for my brother. After he gets home tomorrow I’m going to turn into a cat.
