Finally Got At It

The lawn has been a bit of an area of contention lately, fighting with rain, contractors, and away time. The front grows slower, for whatever reason, and takes longer to get out of hand. The back on the other hand quickly becomes a literal jungle.
I haven't been able to get it done with the frequency I prefer, and I prefer a nice, well-kept lawn.
Part of the issue with the back was due to contractors we hired to stain the deck, and they had all our stuff strewn across the back lawn for a spell, and cutting around it would have been...ridiculous.
It was wet and rainy all day yesterday, but it simply had to be done. So, I got at it yesterday and feel much better that it's cut, finally, even if I had to go real slow even though I had the rider.
Today, hopefully I can get the front done.

You have a riding lawn mower? Wuss! Just kidding. I had a fairly big sized lot at one time and I mowed with a regular hand-push lawn mower and I really enjoyed it . . . except for in July and August when it was blistering hot. It's the only activity I've ever been able to do where I could zone out my brain for a minute and chill.

I enjoy mowing and yard work, but I also have a backyard jungle.

I was hoping to cut the grass today but it's raining... not torrentially as it was the other day, so if it stops RIGHT NOW! it might be dry enough by mid-afternoon.

@porwest Sure, sure... your mower has water wings?

@BarBaraPrz Nah. But it's a rider, so it can handle more than say, a push one.

Lawns always look good when they're freshly mown although that isn't always so with the first mow after a long spell.

I actually enjoy doing yard work, and look forward to it each week. And yes, in Florida, it's every week all year long (the grass never stops growing here). I always consider it my "me" time. And, I love how nice the yard looks when I am done.
