Trump claims he "doesn't know" if he has to uphold the Constitution

Man the stupidity just increases every day with this guy. Um YES he is supposed to uphold the Constitution. Bro just held his hand on a gaudy gold Trump bible and said that to be sworn in as president for the second time just like 3 months ago. He was asked in an interview about the mass deportations without due process and said he didn't know if he had to uphold the Constitution. The 5th Amendment says that no person (note it doesn't say US citizen) shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process. Trump's response? “I don’t know. It seems — it might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million or 2 million or 3 million trials. We have thousands of people that are — some murderers and some drug dealers and some of the worst people on Earth. I was elected to get them the hell out of here, and the courts are holding me from doing it." Darn that pesky 3rd branch of government which is supposed to be check on a wannabe dictator's powers. But seriously how can any American who claims to love this country and be a "patriot" support Trump saying he is unsure if he has to follow the Constitution? That literally is the job of the president.

The entire thing is an unsavory mockery of being the president.

Yep, funny how we rarely heard about fake news until we had a fake President. PT Barnum at the helm and many still don't know they've been suckered.

When Trump says, "I don't know," I actually believe him. It's a step in the right direction.

I thought everyone knew a constitution is sacrosanct. Obviously not Trump.

He said no such thing. His response was in regard to a question about illegals and deportation and due process. He said, "I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. I don't know." And part of that answer stems from the war time law he is using, as he has declared the illegal immigrant problem an "invasion." In other words, there are gray areas here as to whether or not the Constitution applies to non-citizens under the auspices of the wartime law being invoked. Invaders would not be entitled to due process under the Constitution if it is determined that the law is being used in a way that is determined to be lawful and within his power as president. Trump has made it clear that he will follow the law, however. "My lawyers are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said." To suggest he doesn't understand the Constitution or knows he has an obligation to uphold it is an outright lie and a wild stretch of the imagination.

@NJChicaa And I just told you what he ACTUALLY said. We saw the same thing. How come you only see one part of it? Is this like the dictator thing when he said the first part and you stuck your fingers in your ears so you couldn't hear the whole sentence?

@porwest I heard everything he said. For a US president to act wishy-washy and refer to his lawyers when it comes to a question about following the Constitution is insane and disgusting.
