Well I'm up again in the wee hours of the morning. I did go to bed this morning and try to sleep, but the rash has me itching very badly.
So far I have tried Cortizone cream and have given totally up on it. I have to reapply it every 20 minutes. Next I tried Vicks Vapo Rub. That worked better than the Cortizone Cream, but needs to be reapplied about 30-35 minutes. So next I got out a blend of Essential Oils I have and tried that. So far it is the winner and I can go a couple of hours without trying to dig my skin off my bones.
I am hoping that my husband's wound care appointment later today is a quick in and out and they say, oh it's just about 100% healed. You did a great job with it, and send on on our merry way....to Urgent Care!
I think one of the medicines they gave me for my foot brought this on because it happened two days after starting this medicine. I'm about to stop taking the muscle relaxers in case it is that one. The other prescription did say that it caused rashes as a side affect in some people so I assumed that was the culprit. I haven't had any of those pills for almost 2 days now. It should be stopping, but hasn't yet.
To occupy my mind, I got out in the garden and planted some crook neck squash and summer straight squash.
Hoping to be back on my way to bed in the next few minutes.

I am allergic to sulfur also, but it makes me throw up or projectile vomiting. The medication that I think it was did have a side effect of rashes, so I quit taking it on Friday. However, it did not stop over the weekend or really get any better.

I hope you're feeling better by now.
I always use Benadryl when I get a rash, whether from some of the pollens in the air or from a medication. At least it stops the itching until I can stop taking the medication that's causing it.

Nope, not yet!
I can't take Benadryl, I'm severely allergic to it. I would be a deep color of red if I took it now. It really gives me a rash!! We found that out when I had the twins. I broke out in the "pregnancy rash" and they gave me Benadryl in the hospital. I turned beet red then all over. Talk about miserable!

@kareng I'm sorry that happened. I have to take it quite often to clear up rashes from allergies.

It seems to be an irritating rash and will take time to heal. Go on following doctor's advice..You will be ok soon. I pray for you.

That’s a bad thing about medication. The precautionary information says not to take it if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients, but the only way to know if you’re allergic to it is to take it.
(It’s not like they run an allergy test on you before prescribing something.)
Hope you’re better soon!
