I'll Take a "Hundy"

I am not sure why I sometimes call a hundred dollar bill a "hundy," but I do. Of course, hundred dollar bills have other names people call them. Benjis and Benjamins are a couple that come to mind. I have to make a trip to Walmart today, and there are a couple of "higher ticket" items I need to replenish, and I have some 100s in my Tuesday Challenge envelope which I will "buy back," and I will take one of them with me. By the way, as of today I have $1,422 in my envelope. How much is in yours? It's "spend the day with mom" day today as well, and sometimes on Tuesdays I take her to the bowling alley to drop a few bucks in the slot machines there. I haven't decided yet if we'll do that today. I guess I could run it by her and see if she wants to, but her answer is usually yes, so it might be a moot question. Nice, though, we are supposed to warm up a bit into the 70s today as well. I'd like to get the windows open which have been closed for a few days since it's been rather chilly. What are your plans for the day?

Have fun dropping those Hundy's at Walmart! I was just thinking, I haven't been in a Walmart since before the pandemic. And I have no desire to ever go there again. lol

@porwest Having worked there as a manager for 8 years, I owned tons of stock in Walmart. Sold it years ago when I got married and bought a house. I hate shopping at Walmart these days because of all the riff-raff there, but I would say that if I still owned any of their stock I would suck it up and force myself to shop there.

@moffittjc I wonder what all that stock would be worth today considering it's over $100 a share these days post-split. Have you ever done the math? If you did, that might make for a really interesting post.

Walmart can irritate me sometimes, but there are just too many "best priced" items I get there that I simply cannot NOT shop there. Plus, I own stock in the company. lol

I need to get to work on some new articles for HubPages. I planned 10 for this month. We'll see if I get them all done.

75 here as we speak and windows open, so that worked out. And we did wind up stopping at the bowling alley and I only lost $20. Not too shabby.

I’ve always wondered why we call $100s Benjamins and $20s Jacksons. Benjamin is a first name and Jackson is a last name.

@porwest I was just wondering why one is first name and the other last name.

@lovebuglena Like I said, it probably just rolls off the tongue better. Which sounds better, "Hand me that Andrew," or "Hand me that Jackson?" lol

Because Benjamin Franklin is the face on the $100 bill and Andrew Jackson is the face on the $20 bill. I guess the first name on the one and the last name on the latter simply roll off the tongue better.
