How things will change.

Good morning, friends. I read about tariffs going up every minute but the only thing I can do is to cross my fingers and only buy produce from my country. But there are things that you must buy from other places This world is not meant to be a lot of places that have to protect from each other. I want to buy an airfryer soon. It seems a good way of eating healthier foods. But all are made elsewhere. I´ll have to check. And discover a not so expensive one that fryes food just for a couple of people. Do you have one? Where did you buy it?

We had one but I gave it away. It was a pain in the tush to clean the grease out of it when I cooked beef or pork in it. It's a LOT easier to clean a skillet so no more hot air fryer here.

@marguicha You're very welcome. Some people online swear they didn't have trouble cleaning grease out of theirs...

I do not have one. Produce and gas prices are high here. But I have not checked on things like air fryers. I have not really even checked on the price of guitars.

I am confused by your concern for tariffs. Let me be clear any tariffs Trump imposes DO NOT AND WILL NOT affect prices in your country. At least not directly. Let me explain. The tariffs Trump is imposing are on foreign goods ENTERING the United States. In other words, if Chile sends products to sell to the United States AMERICANS pay more. Not you. On Chilean goods. Now, the ONLY way you see higher prices is if YOUR GOVERNMENT imposes higher retaliatory tariffs on U.S. products ENTERING Chile. But those higher prices would ONLY affect U.S. products and ONLY depending on what Chile charges the United States. If the price of U.S. goods goes up in your country, it's not Trump that did that. It's YOUR president who did that. The tariffs you pay are determined by what your president decides to charge whatever country the products are coming from. Does Chile have a beef with China? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. But if Chile decides not to up their tariffs on Chinese goods... There will be no increased cost. Tariffs are charged on imports, yes. But the tariff added is decided by the country RECIEVING the imports. NOT the country exporting into your country.

I´m not concerned in what I pay. I´m concerned with the world.

@marguicha But the world is not impacted by tariffs the U.S. imposes, so I am still confused.

You love to cook and you love good food, you will not like the air fryer. I tried one and brought it back. (Most are produced by Chinese manufacturers).

@LadyDuck I´m eating now only small amounts of fried food. I know that I can´t eat that. Lately, I sprinkle Duchesse potatoes with oil and place them in a hot oven. It is enough.

@marguicha I use little fat and avoid fried food. If you want something fried that tastes good the only way is to fry in a lot of oil, il the air fryer is the same as you would put in a very hot oven.
