Back from the sauna

Not really. I just had a bath but the water was much too hot. I'll have to adjust the water heater now that it's warmer weather. I have it set a little higher in the winter. I can never get the water temp just right: it's either too hot or too cold, and that's because there's just one knob.

Why do you reset the temp of your hot water? We've never adjusted ours. We only have a single knob in the shower, too. I adjust it and check the temp before climbing into the shower.

I adjust the temp on the water heater because it's too chancy to get it 'just right' with the tap alone. When the air is cold (winter) I freeze in what would be warm enough in the summer when the air is warmer. And I hate taking showers.

@BarBaraPrz Oh, I see... I don't like baths because I'm too tall to fit comfortable in a tub.

My shower only has cold water, which isn’t bad once it starts to get hot outside. But boy is it a treat when I shower at my dad and stepmom’s house. It feels so nice to have the ideal temperature of the water!

@BarBaraPrz I love that!! I live in low income housing. That sort of thing happens on occasion.

Yow! Cold showers? Do you live in an old English boarding school?

Only one knob is annoying. We have one knob only in the shower, but we can adjust the temperature on the knob.

It is annoying: it's either cold or hot. The middle should be somewhere inbetween, but it doesn't always work that way.

@BarBaraPrz - I experienced that problem in our previous apartment, with an electric heater.

When I update the main bathroom, I want to get one of those shower heads that keeps the temp at a certain point that you choose.

Sometimes 'old' technology is better than the 'new! improved!' type. With two taps, it is easier to adjust the flow.

@BarBaraPrz Yes the shower has one control; and it's really hard to adjust the temp.

Sounds like a bit frustrating ! The adjuster should be a key-press with + and - on it.

It should be two separate taps, in my opinion.

I hate cold showers/baths but like you I find it difficult to get the temperature just right.

Especially with this type of tap. It starts with ''cold" and then I have to crank it over to the left to get "hot", which comes out full force, so the tub quickly fills up.
