Happy Doctor day! Yes, it’s time for the pulmonary visit. Meanwhile, next door, my neighbor had a knee replacement…and was home about six hours later! It’s also time for another song from 1975. Hey, wasn’t this guy on the 1965 list? Why yes, thanks for noticing! Here’s today’s song. Listen to What the Man Said - Wings I hear that Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings, but I can’t verify that…the Bee Tulls or something like that…. Yeah, this is a fun song. Paul got ragged on for making happy music in the 70s, but I don’t know why. We need happy stuff like this, just as much as we need Dylan doing “Masters of War.” I’d still rather go to a song like this when I’m feeling down. Listen to What the Man Said Written by Paul and Linda McCartney Recorded by Wings From Venus and Mars, 1975 He won’t mind:

@NJChicaa OK, you have an excuse. Wings was fluff.

Were you living in a mine shaft in the mid-70s?

Paul had a lot of good songs all throughout his career.

Definitely a bouncy song to sing along with. Yeah, when I had my hip and knee replaced, I was in the hospital for 3-4 days!!! They kept me totally out of pain and I had PT. Six hours is ridiculous.

When I had my hysterectomy, meaning my abdomen cut open, I was discharged before I was cleared to eat solid food.

Wings is always, to me, one of those groups that was always a bit underrated, though I am not sure why. I guess it's hard to follow The Beatles. Yet, Wings has always been a fantastic band that made some great music, and this song would be no exception to that.

A lot of people accused Paul of going “soft” after the Beatles, like “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La Da” was rocket science.

@porwest — yep, it was the #1 song of 1976. One of the best middle fingers in music history!

@FourWalls lol. Well, he did get back at everyone in his own way when he wrote "Silly Love Songs" which was a response to ridicule and then went on to sell millions and millions of records on that one.

Sir Paul is a legend, and sometimes us older people take it for granted that everyone knows his music as well as we do.

Things are stable with the asthma right now, so the appointments are mostly “check-ups” and renewing the medication prescriptions. Glad you like the song!

Well!!! He changed the name of that act a million times in five years…went from “Paul and Linda McCartney” to “Paul McCartney and Wings” to “Wings,” then back to just “Paul McCartney.” Wonder if HE lost track.
