We visited my sister today and I was able to get my goat fix. Isn’t this little fellow just adorable?
The sire is a pretty black-and-white guy and has been throwing a lot of very pretty kids. Although the Nigerian dwarf goats are excellent milkers, they also make great pets and mostly people want pretty ones as pets.
My nephew has been selling quite a few lately which is good as his numbers more than double every season. Very few of the does have a single kid. Most have twins or triplets and even quadruplets are not unheard of.

I thought you said "fixed" and I wondered what was wrong with it. Yes, it's 10:40 am but I'm obviously not quite awake yet.

I saw “fixed” too. I’m thinking she got a pet and had it spayed.

Wow! I'm glad he keeps finding buyers for them. Imagine being overrun with little kids.

@DaddyEvil Some go as pets but the best go to other studs or for milking, maybe for cheese production.

Very adorable indeed !
Sounds interesting that Nigerian origin goats do well in a place Thousands of Mile away.
Or is the name not indicative of their origin?
I think those who are breeding them would be getting good profits when selling them.

May be these goats would find it more comfortable in Australia?
Anyways what fetches good prices is good enough !

What a cute little sweetheart.
I could see how they could be pets, almost reminds me of a puppy-dog. Great pic

It's not popular here either but I think if more people tried it that it would be
It was very good
But maybe culturally in Scotland we are not ready to eat lovable friendly cuddly goats.

There are quite a few people around who raise goats and I have seen them in petting zoos. They are full of personality. Your nephew must be keeping them really healthy for them to have multiples so often.

It's in the genetics I think. They are incredibly fertile - and at a very young age.

Aww, what a sweet visit—and that little goat is absolutely adorable! There’s just something about Nigerian dwarf goats that makes them so lovable. It’s great to hear your nephew is doing well with them too—sounds like he’s got quite the thriving little herd! With twins, triplets, and even the occasional quadruplets, he must be busy year-round!
And yes, totally agree—while they’re fantastic milkers, their charm and looks make them such fun and unique pets. I’d definitely be tempted to bring one home (or two... or three!) if I had the space. Glad you got your goat fix today!

They are so cute and very affectionate really. They snuggle down if you pick one up.
