Waiting Wednesday

I continue on with my attempts to sketch objects that look like, well, objects. I drew three leaves today that are quite funky but to me resemble leaves. Most of my entire life I've drawn stick figures and that has been it. So drawing a leaf that could possibly be a leaf is a major whoa for me. I'm waiting.....for my bread dough to rise. I'm making flat yeasty bread today. I'm waiting.....for the delivery guy or gal to deliver three gable pediments. I'm waiting for the house painters BUT they are not going to show until the end of next month. I'm waiting for tomorrow morning to get here. Friend is taking me to get a deeper scan of my wonky left leg- how fast or slow does the blood flow in that leg? I hope everyone else is having a good day.

I can draw general outlines but don't know what to do with them beyond that point. Pretty can draw really well. We're waiting for the dude that's working next door to fix our washing machine. (I'm ready to tell him never mind and call the people Pretty found online to come and do it.)

@sallypup The guy told us he'd order parts for it and then fix it when the parts came in but when I check online, it shows parts are available for it in two places in our town alone, let alone six places in Springfield. I'm ready to give up on him. We need the washing machine fixed. At least you've taken a step in the right direction with your drawings. Pretty offered to help me with mine but I don't care enough about drawing to bother with it.

@DaddyEvil The washing machine problem sounds aggravating. I am surprised at how much I am enjoying doodling around with pencils.

@DaddyEvil Uh oh about the washing machine. You need that. I am drawing basically outlines but that is a whole nother planet from where I was last year.

I don't draw as well as I used to. But I must admit that talent was never a strong point with me anyway...I would rather sew than draw or paint. I hope your bread rose! I make the flat Finnish bread sometimes. It takes a while but I love the taste of it. Son doesn't care for it, so if I make it, I usually wait until some of the other kids are around. I hope your leg scan goes well and the blood flows the way it's supposed to!

@MarieCoyle If we were closer you could show me about your sewing projects. I love quilting though I've never done any. Flat Finnish bread? I just felt lazy today so I stretched the dough onto a cookie sheet and let it rise. It turned out well though I should have salted the dough a bit more.

@MarieCoyle My Dad had ulcers. He ate Cream of Wheat for breakfast for years. I put stuff in my bread when I can. We currently don't have any wheat ground so I put in almond meal and a little oatmeal and a spoon of plain yogurt cause its nutritious.

@sallypup With the son here and the schedule we keep I am way behind with my projects, but he is the priority right now, of course. I wish we were closer, that would be so nice! Finns are big on making their own bread. It's hard to explain but it's a flat type of loaf...has rye and regular flour. I had an uncle who married a Finnish lady, she baked all of her own breads, and I fell in love with her flat loaves, they are so good. Finns like cream of wheat for their breakfast. All of her breads always had several tablespoons of cooked cream of wheat in them, it made it so, so good.

I hope that wonky leg gives a good report. Today, I’m packing for my sister’s, cleaning, and trying to earn a little money online. I’m really hoping I’ll magically get some energy at my sister’s. Maybe from the kids!

Yes, good day. I am no good at drawing, but a leaf is probably something I could handle. Maybe I will look at a youtube video. What I really wish though at this point is to mess around with the calligraphy set I got with the quill pen. I am not patient enough to write a nice calligraphy message, but I could probably do a nice signature. I was really tempted to get a seal with an initial on it, that I think you use with a calligraphy set or some kind of ink..glad I didn't bring my purse with me or I might have bought it. However, I probably would have opted for the cheaper thing.

@snowy22315 I'm still at the stage where drawing a heart is hard-trying to get both sides of the heart equally sized is impossible to do so far. Calligraphy is intriguing for sure. One of the drawing exercises that I am doing is trying to write graceful cursive. My Mom could write so nicely. Not me but its good drawing exercise, attempting to write a swirly S for instance.

@sallypup My mom was into calligraphy at one point, but she has good hand writing. Mine is not.

@snowy22315 Good handwriting is an art. Maybe practice helps? I am more confident in my drawing efforts than I was a month ago. (I attempt to draw something every day.) Pinterest has lots of good ideas about drawing.

@Deepizzaguy I admire you on doing surveys. Some of those are such toughies and ask the weirdest questions.

@Deepizzaguy I hate how you can put in twenty minutes on a survey and maybe make 30 cents. It can be a rip off of our valuable time.

Sometimes we seem to spend our lives waiting - or at least half our lives. I hope you get some good news about your leg.
