What Gives?

I just noticed today when I went to pay a bill on my bank website that there wasn't an https before the website url. AND there wasn't an https on ANY of the websites that I visited today.
What would cause this and is there a way to correct it? I'm nervous to say the least.
Thank you.

I hadn't noticed that before but I found the answer in a link if you want it.

@LindaOHio Nice! I don't need to see that, though.

It seems, per this article, that “https” is the norm now, so they will only tell you if the site is NOT secure.

I find it strange that it's set up that way. Why not just show it?

@LindaOHio It is odd - we've all been taught to look for it and then they hide it!

It should still be there. Perhaps it’s just not displayed.

@LindaOHio well that’s nice. You had me on my toes to check on the https on the sites I will be visiting especially when it comes to finances.

If you hover your mouse pointer over the address, it shows the https.

I see you've gotten the answer to your question here and it's good to know the answer. I certainly wouldn't have been able to answer it for you
