I just noticed today when I went to pay a bill on my bank website that there wasn't an https before the website url. AND there wasn't an https on ANY of the websites that I visited today. What would cause this and is there a way to correct it? I'm nervous to say the least. Thank you. Photo Credit: Pixabay

I hadn't noticed that before but I found the answer in a link if you want it.

@LindaOHio Nice! I don't need to see that, though.

It seems, per this article, that “https” is the norm now, so they will only tell you if the site is NOT secure.

I find it strange that it's set up that way. Why not just show it?

@LindaOHio It is odd - we've all been taught to look for it and then they hide it!

It should still be there. Perhaps it’s just not displayed.

It is good that you are aware of these things like it might be a scam website. I am always alert on these things too.

@LindaOHio well that’s nice. You had me on my toes to check on the https on the sites I will be visiting especially when it comes to finances.

If you hover your mouse pointer over the address, it shows the https.

It is likely in the browsing itself and it also depends on the website you are visiting.

It is good that you noticed. There are vultures out there looking for easy prey. It looks like some error as you are able to resolve this issue.

Hmm. That's a mystery. Not sure what that means, how it happened, or how to fix it. Did you try restarting your computer?

I am not tech savvy. So, I don't really know. But isn't that supposed to be suspicious?
