Today is International Tea Day! And I just finished a cuppa. 
There's nothing like a nice hot cup of tea to make things better, especially if it's accompanied by sympathy. In British novels, people are always being giving tea with lots of sugar to combat shock. Have you had your tea today?

@BarBaraPrz True but with instant coffee you're not left with having to do something with the tea-bags.

I do have a cup of hot tea now and then, but I have to confess that coffee is my drink of choice. I dearly love my coffee!

People do that in the Southern part of the US, too. I grew up knowing that if someone goes into shock, make them a cup of tea with lots of sugar in it.

@BarBaraPrz You press the lip of the glass against their closed mouth and gently tip it up. When liquid touches your lips, even in shock, you tend to lick... If they like the sweet taste, they'll drink it.

Today is the first day for weeks where I have not had a cup of tea at all.
Coffee all the way all day.
I couldn't put sugar in tea or coffee.
I'm sweet enough.

I really can't drink tea with sugar or honey: for some reason unsweetened tea irritates my throat.
