What do you feed your pets?

I've been feeding my cats grain-free high protein kibble with freeze-dried raw bits for well over a decade. It isn't cheap but it is the best for their dietary needs. None of my cats are fat nor do they have health issues. The last time Whiskey (French bulldog) was here my former neighbor realized she had no food for him and went to get him some at Dollar Tree. Gee and she wonders why he has a sensitive stomach and pukes all the time. I just ordered a bag of cat food that costs $46.99 for 10 pounds. I'm fine with that price. It will feed all 3 of my cats for at least a month. When I was younger and less-educated about cat nutrition I used to buy the cheap stuff. Now that I know more I buy the good stuff and I have to say that my cats aren't fat. They are slim, healthy, and active. I pay more for their food but I'm not having to pay vet bills due to illness. What do you feed your pets?

Dollar Tree pet food is the worst there is. I can't believe she bought that for a dog with tummy issues. But then again, I don't think that girl thinks very hard. Hopefully, you have heard nothing from her after that fiasco of a weekend. It still makes me upset that she treated you so terribly when you provided free doggy care and love to Whiskey.

I deleted and blocked her number so who knows if she has tried texting me. I was so offended that she would think that I would talk $hit about her to that pothead. After 6 years she should know me better than that. Whatever. Her loss.

@NJChicaa Most definitely it was her loss. She was the taker in that relationship, and you were the giver--always. That's not how friendship works...I guess no one ever told her that.

The cats here get kibble. I have no idea of its food value although it's supposed to be for 'fat cats'. They seem healthy enough and in good condition.

I used to feed my dog grain free food, but my vet told me my particular dog needed grain. She suggested Iams because of the quality. I also give her a Greenie a day for her teeth (Thise things are crazy expensive). Then I get a lot of free treats (mostly freeze dried) and my picky dog sometimes does or does not eat. I used to give Sadie some soft food on occasion, but my vet said it was better for her teeth to have the hard stuff. I imagine if I had a cat the instructions would be wildly different.

I give my fishies canned fish food and give them pureed shrimp about once a month. They seem to like it. When I still had guppy boys, they'd swim between my fingers, petting me. I liked to think they were thanking me for feeding them "the good stuff".

I don't have fur babies anymore. We always fed our dogs Iams.

I feed my cats alternately dry cat food and homemade food. Sometimes I would buy those commercial wet cat food too and some toppers occasionally. They also love drinking broths, usually chicken broth or beef bone broth.

Bird seed, peanuts, and Nine Lives. I don’t have any pets, but I put out bird seed and peanuts for the squirrels and birds, and if a cat wanders into the yard (Squeaky did this morning) I have a few cans of Nine Lives to set out for it.
