Blueberry muffin and a cup of coffee

It is cold and rainy outside....fortunately I don't have to go out today....so it is the sort of day I just want to stay in front of the fire and watch something on tv. A quiz show starting in about half an hour so I have until then to finish on here. My Mom has just brought me a home made blueberry muffin and a cup of coffee....just what I need. My Mom is a brilliant cook and has recently started baking again ....fills a bit of time for her ....but, to my horror, fills my waistline too ! what is your favourite afternoon snack .....

Mom? Have you gone all American now, TJ? I’ve given up snacks, as they were ruining my racing snake physique. Muffins, scones, cakes: they all had to be allocated as “treats” only to be eaten on special occasions. Today isn’t one of those occasions, unfortunately. You enjoy yours!

I have always spelt it Mum ......My Mother , on the other hand has always spelt it Mom....I don't know what happened but I now spell it Mom. I think it was when we lost my Dad a couple of years ago ...maybe, in a strange way it makes me feel closer to her spelling it the way she does. Don't worry .....I still correct the Grandkids if they say candy, cookies, diapers......the next time they are back to sweets, biscuits and nappies.....

@Orson_Kart As I said i usually do Mum whereas she has always done Mom .....her choice. She is not American. I would say that usually we have Mum,Mam Mummy. I think of Mammy as Irish. Each to their own i guess. I will look after her x

I don't tend to eat a lot, I'm a snacker. I think the only meal I really eat is dinner. Other than that I snack all day and it's whatever I find on hand usually. No real favorite here.

Sorry Tracey Jayne but I do not have one particular favourite afternoon snack. But Blueberry Muffin and a cup of Coffee would be up there on my list. Glad to hear your mum is a good cook and good at baking. What quiz show are you going to watch.

The blueberry muffin sounds delicious! You're lucky your mom still bakes. It's chilly and cloudy here but we aren't supposed to get rain again until tomorrow. Hope you enjoy your show.

I give a big thumbs up to blueberry muffins. Nothing beats homemade so I'm sure it's delicious. Rainy day here too. I'm so tired of all the rain we've been having this month.

How nice of your Mum to spoil you. I don't bake much but I'm thinking of making some marmalade. I have plenty of empty bottles that I hate to throw out so I'd be right for bottles.

The most important thing is the love your mom puts into her cooking. I’m sure her love warms more than any fire on a chilly day. I believe the universe loves you and sent your mom as an angel to care for you. My grandmother also loved to give love through food. She always baked pies and made fruit compote for me. That’s my favorite dessert.
