The struggle is real

I have been utterly exhausted the past couple of weeks. Not using my CPAP regularly is not helping the situation. I didn’t use it last night because allergies had me all stuffed up. I’m sitting in a silent classroom covering a class. It is very hard to keep my eyes open. I can feel myself starting to nod off. This is rough and I still have 2+ hours to go. I *wish* I could nap when I get out of here later. Unfortunately I can’t.

Have you ever fallen asleep whilst teaching a class before? We had a teacher who fell asleep and we found it hard not to laugh at his snoring.. It was quite funny.

I'm sorry you're so exhausted. I remember my piano teached desperately trying not to nod off.

My dad got to where he can’t sleep well without his CPAP, but when he’s stuffed up it’s hard. Try to hang on. It’s almost time for summer and rest is around the corner.

Are you able to walk around the building? That might “wake you up” for a few minutes.

I use my CPAP more when I'm having allergies. It keeps my sinuses open and helps me breathe through the allergies. I wear it when I'm just sitting reading or talking on myLot during allergy season.

Hang in there. Hopefully you can catch a break soon, even if it's not a full nap.

I feel for you as I too suffer from constant tiredness. Those machines must take some getting used to, and I don’t think I could get away with one. I was tested for sleep apnea many years ago, but the results were inconclusive and my doctor just gave up on it. The care here is pretty diabolical. One thing I have read, is that you can’t fall asleep if your heart rate is above 60 bpm. I have a smart watch, and if I feel sleepy at an inappropriate time, I look at my watch, and it usually is below 60 bpm, so I get up and walk around to raise it. Works for me…..until I sit down again.
