Alexa really does have a mind of its own

So, I am out in the kitchen and Alexa out of the blue starts playing an Elvis tune. It was," I can't help falling in love with you." I wasn't in the mood for it. Shocked that it started playing on it's own. The only other explanation was since friend has an eco show as well, he requested it to somehow play on mine. I wouldn't put it past him as he never stops, but I think it is beyond his tech capabilities honestly. This one used to belong to him, and I saw this AM he got a bag of Friskies cat food. Spooky. Does your Alexa do strange things, if you have one?

Not sure if mine is called Alexa on the Fire TV but I think it is
I asked it to find a film last night and it found it on Prime

Yes, it is Alexa on the Fire TV. I have the same thing. Suprised it responded without using its name.

I always refused to buy any of that type thing and even shut the ability to talk to me off on my phone. Pretty has never enabled it on her phone, either.

My oldest son bought me an Alexa when they became popular. I honestly detested it. It talked when I was on the phone, when the TV was on, basically whenever it wanted to. I felt like it was literally listening to every single thing and it was way too noisy and intrusive. I gave it away. Not for me!

My guess is he requested it..but who knows? Alexa pops up skills it has learned before like daily polls and stuff like that.

I had one on my Kindle. That was when I had just gotten it and didn't realize it had an Alexa. I was at my Mom's house. She has an Alexa. She asked hers a question. When she asked hers, hers started answering and so did my Kindle Alexa (I had it in the same room). We were both shocked my Kindle had one.

That happens here sometimes where they both respond. However, the one out here stays quiet when I am using the one on the TV.
