Should I Look For my Husband?

Hubby wandered out to the garden more than an hour ago. I thought he was taking a little look at what's up and would be outside for a few minutes. It's easy to notice things that need to be done and get busy for hours. When I do that, he comes looking for me and says he wondered if I collapsed in the garden. When he does it, I just keep busy at what ever I'm doing. I guess I'll go look for him and hope I don't get put to work out there

I suppose you have a large garden to truly search for your husband. He's probably busy taking care of whatever he's working on.

The gardent isn't that big. But the property is a couple of acres, so I can't see him from the house.

@paigea oh wow that is indeed a big one. The only gardens I can think of are those that only cover a house's front or back.. However, if it's a few acres, that's a different matter.

@rsa101 When I say garden, I just mean the vegetable garden. It's not that big. Part of our property is just bush, so the yard part is not too large. Our peaceful country retreat.

Ohhh... I thought he'd finally made an escape attempt. It might be a good idea to look out a window and see if you can spot him, though. Sometimes I wonder how long it would take someone to notice if I fell down and couldn't get back up when I'm out in our yard by myself. (I think the older couple next door would be the ones who noticed if something happened to me while I was working in the yard. Pretty is often asleep when I go out and start puttering around outside.)

@paigea I'm glad you're both still healthy and don't need to worry about each other like that.

Do you take your phone out so you could call Pretty? I do try to take my phone if I go for a walk. As I might start out for a 10 minute walk and be gone a couple of hours. That gets Hubby out driving the roads, so I try not to cause that worry.

He said he was going to try not to go to town for a week. All fall, winter, spring he goes nearly every day! So, he has plenty of escapes. ?? I said I'd bet him money he couldn't stay home for a week He has had problems out in the yard (not health related) that have had him wonder if I'd ever come looking for him. Just things like needing help finding something. I guess we should keep track of each other. He does go in and out all day, so it's hard to know where he is.

Looks like you have a huge garden. And that it takes a whole lot of time for things to do there. If the garden is big enough, there are chances that you'll be put to work... Venture at your own risk

@paigea I relate so much with you. I relate with each and every word that you wrote here. The thing that instantly struck me is "the work is never ending". I too have a small garden and I know how much physical effort it needs to manage even trivial looking things. Someone may not even notice the efforts that are put. But the one who is doing that, definitely knows what it takes. It's the same for me as you said I work according to my mood. It's a different kind of satisfaction to work when our mind and brain is ready for that. Otherwise it looks like you are being forced to do that work. And there is no fun doing that.

Very true, the vegetable garden isn't that big, but takes a lot of work. The yard is big and, the work is never ending. I like to work outside when it suits me, not on someone else's schedule

This is the affectionate couples ' concern for each other ! I guess the garden is far from your home and not within shouting distance.

It would take quite a shout to hear each other from the garden to the house. Better to walk out there. The neighbour might think something was wrong if we started shouting!

I hope you find your hubby and that he is okay. I often get wrapped up in my jobs at home then suddenly think .....' oh the Mister hasn't been in for a coffee for a while ' ..... then I go and look for him . He is always safe and usually has just seen a job that needs to be done and is getting on with that.

I can understand spending hours in the garden as it happens to me when I'm determined to finish the project. Right now am trying to decide what else to plant this year, as have several places without anything in the planters.

I wouldn't go looking for him, that might spell work for you, I would keep peeking out the window, he'll return, they always do.
