How is everybody this bright and sunny day? I have to get my blood donation. done today. Luckily, it"s local. It is just part of my civic duty. I am glad to do it. What are you doing today?

My dad used to donate blood but he no longer does it due to his age. Until what age can you donate blood?

@DaddyEvil They also can't accept certain types of medications and your BP has to be decent.

@snowy22315 Technically, there's no age limit but you have to have a note from your doctor every year after age 75 in some states.

My son will be home this weekend , so l am busy getting his room back in shape. He visits every five months or so , that's why l use his room as my sewing room.

Has he ever sat on a pin or needle that you missed picking up?

@Kandae11 Your son should be thanking you every time he comes home and doesn't get stuck, then.

@DaddyEvil Oh no! I take great care to prevent such a mishap. Who wants to be plagued with a guilty conscience.

I might head to my dad’s. I get a few packages sent to my dad’s house since that time mine were stolen at my apartment. I also had a medication sent there I’m now out of. He and my stepmom left for Iowa this morning, and I’m sure my dad prefers me to come get them before gets back.

I’m not allowed to donate blood anymore, because of the timeframe that I lived in Europe.

@snowy22315 After I read this post I called the Red Cross. The ban was lifted in 2020. I’m glad that i called.

I'm enjoying the nice day and trying to get some stuff listed to sell and pack up books to give to my daughters friend. Expecting a few things from Amazon

God bless you! I used to donate blood, but I can’t anymore because of my IgM deficiency. I’m sore from that hike yesterday. My body is trying to tell my mind I just turned 65, and my mind is having none of it. That’s what I carry pain patches and Tylenol for!

@snowy22315 — you have three main immunoglobulins: IgA, IgG, and IgM. Apparently IgG is the most significant, because if you have a deficiency in that they will do infusions.

I've got the curtain open on one of my bedroom windows so I can watch the lightning flash and the rain pour down. We've already reached our predicted high of 68F today at just after 10 am. I'm getting ready to go to sleep for a while. I hope you have a good day. Edit to add: I can't donate blood anymore because of the medications I take.

@snowy22315 Pretty turned our A/C on this morning because it was hot and stuffy in the house. The humidity was at 97%. Let me look... It's at 100% right now. And yes, it's storming again. A few days ago the prediction for the highs this week were in the 80s but has been changed now to mid-70s.

It is nice here too. It might get pretty warm out later today though I might need the AC, but it might stay cool enough in here

Off to the pool soon. It's still calm and warm here. Practiced a bit of guitar after I wrote my morning post.

It has been so cool here I probably won't swim until late June or July. Other people are in and on the water, but I like warm water. Getting to be such a sissy in my old age.

We've had a lot of rain today so we've just stayed home. We'll have to go shopping tomorrow. We're too old now for them to want our blood.

I don't think they have a limit on the age to give blood here as long as you pass your health screen. Some meds they don't allow
