I am cooking Dinner tonight

June 5, 2025 1:16pm CST
I am cooking Dinner tonight so what a treat we are in for a bit later on. We are having Rump Steak, with Roast Potatoes, carrots and Peas, with a pepper and onion sauce I am making from scratch. The Steaks are 16 Oz Thick Cut Rump steaks. We like them Rare. Almost still alive but not quite. We are also having Garlic Bread and a nice bottle of Red Wine. I have to go and peel the potatoes very soon. Then a bit after Dinner we will have a Custard Donut served with Ice Cream. So eat well we will tonight What are you eating tonight/today/tomorrow etc

I made eggplant with leeks and feta cheese. And then I boiled noodles and beef franks. What’s rump steak?

@Ineeddentures I looked at the pic but couldn’t tell what cut of meat it is. Perhaps rump is a British term. Not sure I’ve seen that here in the states.

Your dinner sounds good as it usually does Lena. The Rump Steak ( two pictured above) is my second favourite steak from a Beef Cow. Thick and tasty. Just enough fat and very juicy.

I eat only once a day. No breakfast, no lunch, just dinner is sufficient for me to survive. And I don't know how to cook. My sisters tried to reach me the skill, but I failed to learn

Lol cooking is pretty simple. I bet your sisters are good cooks, every Indian lady I have ever met is a great cook Indian food is so tasty. Even I can cook a curry. And my Onion Bhajis are something else.

@Ineeddentures I'm sorry, I couldn't continue interacting last night. Actually my wife called me to talk to her She wanted to say something to me. Yes, my sister's cook well. Did you ever visit India??

@Shivram59 Don't say sorry for that lol My wife calls me to talk to her all the time and I have to stop interacting on here as well. I have never visited India but know many Indian people here and I also worked in a few Indian Restaurants and I even learned to cook Indian Food properly. I did a whole service myself one night and not one dish came back. The Chef was very proud of me.

That sounds very much like one of our meals. We like our steaks pretty rare too. We might forego the doughnut and have (tinned) peaches and ice-cream instead.

@Ineeddentures We are much more aligned to the UK than to the USA.

@JudyEv Yes But banning cats from going outside after 6pm might mean a bit of misalignment lol

I haven't had tinned peaches for years. Now I almost certainly must go and buy some Tinned Peaches Given the average Aussie gene pool was from the UK it doesn't surprise me that Aussie food is like ours.

Has it come back bigger and better Judy? I have been saying for years I have never had a Taco. Something I must change soon.

@jstory07 Well helping a friend instead is probably a better thing to do. You can get a Taco any time

The carrots were roasted in beef fat so tasted a bit less bland than normal carrots might. And seasoned very well which helps also
