After a delicious dinner.

I have been eating delicious leftovers thanks to a sort of war between Anita and Leticia. Leticia brought Anita to my house years ago, after I was a week at the hospital with norovirus. Anita lives 2 houses away from Leticia and they know each other for decades. Everything was wonderful until I fell and called Leticia in the middle of the night. Lericia was in shck and came with Jorge, her son, early in that Sunday morning. After that she decided to come here twice each week. Leticia is in no shape tto clean floors nor I want her to do it. But she can cook for us and pamper me until I feel better. Today I learned from Leticia though that Anita thinks that Leticia wants to take her job aways from her. And that is not true. But thanks to this "war" Anita is doing a lot of work now that before she did not care to do. And last Wednesday, Martín and I ate pancakes made by her. They were delicious and I applauded them. I hope that she makes them again. Leticia told me all this gossip and added that Anita made wonderful empanadas which she sold to her neighborhood. Leticia in fact is coming to help me out of love. The hours in a bus from her house to mine are terrible as she has non resolved problems ever since she was run over by a car a few years ago. Today Leticia ate a piece of leftover tongue heated on a nut and nutmeg sauce with rice that she had made on Monday. And I ate crepes of spinach cream. And for dinner I ate part of tomorrow´s lunch that Leticia left for me. I´m not cooking much lately because I´m learning to walk with the cane. I´m getting used to it and even find it quite friendly at times. See you friends.

It sounds like you are eating well. My cane keeps me from falling down.

My coxis is still quite sore from the fall. My way of walking is still as if I were 100 years old.

Absolutly. And although Leticia has told me that as soon as my coxis stops hurting she will stop coming, I wish she´d come for the rest of my life. Or that we lived nearer.

I am glad that Anita is doing a lot more work fearing that Leticia "steals" her job, this war is good for you.

It sounds like both Leticia and Anita care for you in their own ways, though their concern may be tangled up in a bit of competition. It's heartening to hear that despite the tension, Anita has been stepping up, those pancakes and the story behind them are a sweet reminder that sometimes a little rivalry can bring out surprising kindness.

I've been walking with a cane fir some time now. Once I got the hang of it all was fine. Sounds like quite a war between two great cooks.
