Yesterday, we drove through Gnomesville to get to where we were going. We had a bit of time to spare so we stopped and had a wander. For anyone who hasn’t read my previous posts about Gnomesville, it’s a collection of gnomes pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
There are thousands of gnomes on the side of the road. The shire has put steps and safety rails and there are now toilets there which is a very good idea. It’s a very popular tourist attraction for individuals, families and groups.
The photo doesn’t do the area justice. The gnomes stretch probably a couple of hundred yards/metres either side of what’s in the photo.

I find your photo is lacking in colour or is it how it is?

I thought the colour looked fine
And that's with my bad eyes
The brown in the foreground and the green of the trees is quite clear.

I remember you posting about these before. I'd enjoy wandering there for a while just looking at everything.

@DaddyEvil No, not really. It almost gets a bit overwhelming as there are just so many all crammed in together. The Crow-Gnome-Eater has gone. Do you remember the photo of him?

I don't know what gnomes are until search them online.I guess many tourists buy them as souvenirs.

Wow, what a neat place to visit and it is good to have the safety improvements for the tourists. Next thing you know, someone will set up a gnomish gift shop.

I'm a bit surprised that hasn't already happened but it's a good 20 minutes away from any shops or towns.

How super cool! It's nice that the local area is recognizing the fact that it's a popular roadside attraction and "upgrading" things.

I remember probably 25 years ago my husband bought one of those.
Our son disliked it so much, but I asked him to put it beside a shurb, and soon that shrub grew and hid it. That way he didn't have to be disrespectful and tell Dad that he disliked it so much.
This collection is cute.

Some people hate them to the point where it becomes a phobia.

They needed the toilets as the nearest are several kilometres away.
