Ponies at our cottage

We stayed in a cabin on Saturday night. The lady had turned on the air-conditioning for us which was nice of her. The bed had an electric blanket too so we were warm and cosy.
There were alpacas in the paddock straight out from our door and these two cute little miniature Shetlands in another paddock. When I went over to take their photo, they nickered gently to me. I miss having ponies.

Aww... The sorrel pony has hair just like mine!
We had Shetlands when I was growing up.

@JudyEv Back when I was a kid, dad and my oldest brother kept buying and selling horses and ponies... Two of the ponies lived with us all their lives. They were a lot of fun.

@DaddyEvil My Dad bred horses for stock work so there were always a lot of horses around the place.

@LindaOHio I could have very easily taken these home.

@JudyEv There used to be an alpaca farm not too far from us. I picked out a nice chocolate colored one. I was going to steal him and take him home.....not really.

@MarieCoyle All the animals there looked very contented. It was a lovely sunshiny day too,

Animals make for smiles, and these obviously appeared to be healthy and treated well, which is always nice to know.

They are so cute. One of my stepdaughter Mara's jobs is to give pony rides to kids at a stable. There is one pony madly in love with her and when she puts up photos on Facebook that pone is nuzzling up to her cheek, So adorable,

It would have been cold without the A/C. We also had an electric blanket so that was appreciated too.

I think they are full size Shetlands
The one on the left is a bit too big to be a miniature Shetland

@Ineeddentures I'm not keen on miniature horses which are much finer and look much more delicate. I like the chunky, solid Sheltands.

We bred them.
A lot of people call them.miniature because they are so small
But there is indeed a miniature variety
It would depend on the height to the shoulder I think whether a miniature is or is not

Aww, aren't they sweet? "Take our picture, please!"
You sound like me: turn on the A/C and pile on the blankets.
Nobody understands it until they reach middle age!
