Good evening from Murray, Kentucky, home of the College World Series-bound Murray State Racers. Here’s a true “Cinderella story”: a stadium that holds 800 people, and the head coach cuts the field’s grass himself. And yet they’re going to the College World Series. How cool! My mind was BLOWN today with an amazing history journey. Unfortunately, I got a little overheated and have a headache, so I’m going to turn in early. However, you will be told…and hopefully you will be amazed, too!! The photo is the Murray State banner at the local Walmart.

There’s the wildfire smoke (although it’s not nearly as bad here as it is at home (where they have an air quality alert out, meaning I couldn’t be outside at all).

@MarieCoyle — I said as a joke that my mind doesn’t pay any attention to my body when it screams, “Hey, goof, you’re 65 now!” I also have medical issues (primarily asthma), and when I’m doing well I tend to forget that. I ran the A/C in the car all day today.

@FourWalls We play Friday night. Still think it is unfair for the two highest ranked teams to be playing one another in the first game!! (Friday evening, at either 5 or 6 pm CST.) but that is how it all rolled out with the way their seeing in the tourney fell.

I love hearing stories like this. The other night we watched 'Red, White and Brass' about the Tongan brass band that performed at some huge important ball game in Tasmania. They missed out on tickets so the only way they could get there was to provide the entertainment - or some of it. It's a very funny film.

@FourWalls It's based on fact - but I don't know how loosely. They seemed to get some quite good players in just a few months.
