A Busy Month Coming

The month of July will be an easy one for us. We do not have any plans for a vacation, which we have always done during July. This year we have opted to do a shorter holiday, closer to home and a bit later. Eventually we will try to be able to stay at home during the summer months so that we can offer to help with the children when they are on their summer holidays from school. We have time before that happens. In August, our eldest niece's daughter, that would be our great niece, is getting married. It will be a very small outdoor event. I have the last week of August off for vacation, and we will go away for a few days. It will be nice to wrap up that week off with seeing the family at the wedding. Do you have any special summer events approaching? ~Photo is mine

We don’t have any summer plans other than celebrating our son’s birthday later this month.

It is a long time we do not go off for vacation on summer. We will stay home and plan short daily trips, just to relax. I am glad you will have some days to attend the wedding.

We took the big trip last summer, which we are glad that we did. Now for this year and next, we will just take short ones during the summer months, and then the following year we will take another big trip to where we went last summer, but we will go in the autumn. We both said that it would be lovely at that time of the year. Neither one of us are too keen on going to this wedding. We do not even know the groom. The family is so big that the greats don't even bother to introduce you to them at family gatherings and now we are invited to the wedding. It is just our generation that is invited.

@LadyDuck There is a lovely 1 day train ride into the hilly area where you can see lots of fall foliage and we would like to take that trip. We were really impressed with the place that we stayed a year ago and will try to book ourselves in there.

@Juliaacv - Some places are even better in autumn than in summer. I am sure you will love. I understand that going to a wedding without even knowing the groom is not interesting.

I think that is smart especially nowadays with the drastic change in our administration. Sounds like fun events coming up. We don't have any plans as yet.

@Juliaacv ......That is a real shame. Trump has not done anything any sane American can be proud of, that's for sure.

Actually we always vacation here in Canada, but thanks to your administration, so are many other Canadians. This is the reason why so many places are completely booked for most of the summer already. Places that are off the beaten path usually have some vacancies, but that isn't the case this year.

We normally stay close to home. Maybe a few trips to the lake to swim or something like that.

This year and next year we will not stray far, we will leave that until after I retire. Taking a vacation in late August will be a first for us.

@Juliaacv August vacations can be fun, depending on where you go and what you do. An nice week at the lake is always good in late August.

Our motor-home should be fixed today and we're planning to go away in a couple of weeks. It's winter but we still get a lot of quite nice days, especially if we head inland or north rather than south,

Special Summer Events. This is the first year I can recall when we haven't been away in June and have nothing planned or for July. August and September we will get away for at least one week each month but no idea of where we will go. But it will be closer to home

We always go away in July, this will be the very first year that we will not go. I kind of feel like I should be preparing to go away, but I will try to enjoy July and then prepare to go in August.

No, I can understand that. You'd come back and Patch would be the Queen of the house. Imagine that.

I always just hope to get through the summer with bittersweet memories and then let out a big SIGH in autumn,

I hope that will be a wonderful trip and visit. Dale and I are planning a few days in Cherokee NC soon. It's a beautiful place on an Indian reservation with hotel, casino, shows, etc. Your flowers are so pretty! We'll have Tammy's Landon next week while she, Jay and Robert go on a cruise. It'll be great to spend some time with him and Nathan. Cooking lots, of course.

Thank you, they have grown and filled out quite a bit since I took that photo. Your trip sound like alot of fun. We have always gone away in July, this will be a first that we do not, and go in late August instead. We will likely go to the beach on weekend days during July. I'm sure that Landon and Nathan are looking forward to hanging out together.

that sounds like an easy summer. This summer is going to be busy for me--hopefully leaving Goodwill and starting a new job in 8 weeks if not earlier. Maybe moving, but most possibly is getting cat two for Bailey's sibling buddy. A couple of zoo events I'll be volunteering at (even on Sunday afternoons). I hope to finish decluttering and cleaning my apartment by next week. Maybe go to the movies with my brother and SIL too.
