Getting frustrated with administration at work

What else is new, right? Anyway I had asked the supervisor weeks ago if I could be moved to a 1st floor classroom as my balance issues make it unsafe (and basically impossible) to walk down the long staircases. He said he understood as he had seen it in person several times recently. He passed it along to the building principal who told me last week that he was "working on finalizing it". The supervisor had mentioned an easy swap would be with a science coworker almost directly below me but no one was telling me anything and the days are ticking by. I texted the coworker the other evening to ask if the principal had said anything to him about moving rooms and he said "totally". I was like "and?" and his response was "I told him I was fine staying where I am". That pissed me off for 2 reasons: 1) No one ever asked me when they took my classroom away years ago and 2) I thought he was a friend and would be willing to help me out when I obviously need it. Nope. Today I saw the building principal at the barbecue and he told me that he was "still working on it" and they were "going to wait until summer when things calm down and deal with it". Um, not helpful. I could be packing up my stuff these last 3 days of work. We aren't allowed in the building during the summer so I'll have to do it all on what? The first day back in September? No one is guaranteed a specific classroom. Like I said no one asked me when they moved me because a newer teacher across the hall had an issue with me. And it isn't like I'm requesting the move simply because I want a nicer room. I literally have to use the elevator to get up and downstairs which is fine until there is an emergency and I can't use it. It is an unsafe situation. I guarantee he is going to procrastinate as long as possible and then say I have to have medical documentation saying it is necessary. I had figured that would be a requirement which is why I asked weeks ago so I could start to get that process going.

Talk to your doctor, get your paperwork in order and email it to the principal. He won't have a choice that way.

People are so selfish. Your ex ‘mate’ obviously cares not a jot for your situation. The admin are not showing much sympathy either, so I would go and get a medical certificate (if you can). Tw@ts!

Good luck with this. Do whatever you have to do to have it happen.

I agree with DE. You should go ahead and get the doctor's excuse and present it. Good luck.
