The rick drama continues.

I am about ready to pull my hair out, if I'm being honest. I paid Rick using Paypal, and he's called me three times because the Money hadn't hit his account. Today, he decided to refund the transaction, basically rejecting it. So now I have a pending refund. He also wants me to use Cashapp or actual cash to pay him the 40. And, now I don't want to re-pay him. I told George, who seems confused because things like this sometimes go over his head. Something that hasn't changed since the stroke.

You paid him and have the proof. Forget it and find someone else to do the job. His fault he sent the money back

Pay him the 40 and start using that other guy. Tell Rick you're done with all the money he charges.

I already did, he rejected the payment and had it sent back to me. Now he wants me to pay him, again using a different method. That's why I'm not in a hurry to do so.

@LindaOHio I already paid him through Paypal. George said he was an idiot for sending the money back.

If you can't find someone else to do this work in the future I would write a letter dated and signed saying you will pay x amount for work done. Then I would have that amount(with no other money seen) in cash each time and nothing more. I have heard many people use the Cash app, but I still only use PayPal.

I forget why I got cashap, and I don't have money in it. If I want to use it I have to source the money from elsewhere. I prefer paypal, honestly. And, I don't like using cash. I'd rather save that for emergencies.

Best of luck getting him paid. It seems so complicated when it could be so easy he should have waited for that money and taken it.

That's why I'm not in a hurry to pay him. He's going to have to wait until either George gets paid, or we go to the store, or I do.

I said on the last post about this that Rick sounds like a rhyming word. I haven't read anything to say anything different. I wouldn't pay him anything else or get him to do any more jobs for you.

I hated it when our plumber suddenly wanted money orders or cash. Trying to cheat the government in our case.

I am confused myself recycling, not sure. I only use paypal, the rest do not trust. 40 dollars is gone or its not. If its still there I could understand his point if its gone, he is scamming you.

To make a long story short, when you don’t have the money in your PayPal balance (or you don’t want to use that balance) PayPal will use a connected card or bank account. When I paid him, PayPal used my connected preferred card. Because the transact wasn’t instant, Rick decided he didn’t want to wait. So he refunded the money. Now, he’s asking I use a different method. But, I won’t have anything until the 24th of this month.

@kaylachan That's weird because if I pay through a connected account, the person is paid immediately. I've never heard anyone having to wait.

@porwest Neither have I. Rick simply said that the payment was pending, and "should be" in his account by July second. When he refunded me, paypal said the money would be back on my credit card by the 17th. This morning I had a push notification from Discover saying it was back on my card.

It's such a tiny amount. Pay him $40 in cash, ask for a receipt, and be done with it.

Well he'll have to wait until I could get that much, idiot would've had it sooner if he'd just waited for Paypal.

@porwest No, we don't. We might find it in loose change, but why pay in literal pennies? With how he acted about the money, why should we count out our change and take that time?

@kaylachan You don't have $40 lying around? Heck, there's over $200 in my coin jar and probably another $5 or $10 worth of loose change floating around in my truck's console.

I would have sent Rick on down the road by now, but that's just me. Surely someone else other than him would be easy to deal with, he is stressing you and George and you don't need more stress.
