I think I get to play now

I was just told and shown that photos will go through to this site now. Total fun. Here is my poppy photo. I love the color. I used to have a pink poppy and I continue to look for another like it but I also love this color. Mister patch the underneath part of the roof guy is here. He had walked all around my house and found not only the front porch area being wonky but a side back part needed some help, too. He is determined to not allow birds etc. into the eaves of any part of the house. Earlier I spotted starlings walking around on the street and sidewalk. Fine. Just quit building your nests in my walls!

I'm glad he's getting things done for you... The birds can build a nest somewhere else.

@DaddyEvil thank you. He showed me some eave areas that need more work done but no, I am not ready to put a ton more money into shoring up this elderly house.

@DaddyEvil This house has new windows and updated wiring etc. but it gets hungry for cash too often.

Your poppies look lovely. I know I can't see much but this could easily be an Australian front porch.

@JudyEv Really interesting comment. Those are cement steps that lead to a glassed in porch. I can show you more if you like- now that photos are again uploading.

@JudyEv You are getting me itchy to visit Ireland. The midwestern part of the U S has more glassed in front porches than where I live.

@sallypup We wouldn't often glass-in our porches. We saw a lot of those in Ireland and England.

He sounds committed to getting his job done, I always looked forward to going to my grandmother's and getting to shake the seeds out of the poppy pods. I guess I was about five. My gran could grow anything.

@GardenGerty The fix it guy did a good job. The front of my porch is now Fort Knox. It sounds like you have lovely memories of your Grandmother.

@wolfgirl569 Thank you. There are purple petunias in the same planter but I couldn't get a good shot of the two together. They make a great contrast.

I'll be happy when we get to get our garden going but looks like not this year. Still getting the property finished (permits take forever with each person.) We have a neighbor that put out bird house condos in their garden and the birds stopped making them under the eaves.

What gorgeous poppies. I'm glad the roof guy is taking care of your house.
