Well that was annoying

but entirely my own fault. I churned up the salted caramel ice cream base that I made yesterday. It filled a quart-sized plastic container and then there was still like a cup left that I didn't want to waste so I put it into a different Gladware container. Everything was fine in my packed freezer until I decided to be fat and keep that last cup. I closed the freezer door and everything looked good for just as long as it took me to walk over to the sink. The freezer door shot open and the quart container fell out, landed on the floor, and promptly shattered. What a mess! Like I said it was my own fault. In any case I am not too mad at myself as I already had all of the ingredients on hand--a gazillion eggs, heavy cream and milk that needed to be used up, etc. At least I still have that last bit to try later tonight when it firms up. I did taste it straight out of the freezer bowl and it was very tasty. I will be making it again at some point this summer.
