I'm watching The Great British Baking Show. An early one from 2017.
I come from a long line of good cooks. I just don't care to do the fancier things, just the basics. Savory things like soups, roast and casserole. Delicious cookies, cakes and such. I would love to eat the fancy French pastries. I just don't want to cook them.
I do occasionally experiment, just nothing too fancy or complex.
How about you?

I can cook.
I am quite adventurous.
I will try anything.
Fancy or simple.
Most of the meals I post on here take a bit of cooking but when on the plate and photographed they don't look very.fancy

If we are having guests over, then I'll make fancy dishes. When it's just Pretty and I, I cook basic stuff. I do the majority of our cooking/baking.

I give my daughter's recipes and she does the cooking. She has gotten pretty good.

I'm in the basics category. I make sweets like fruit pies and carrot cake. I bake basic wheat bread. I can make good mayo and hummus and yes to basic milk gravy. I have made doughnuts but they're not the same as my Mom's. Basic cornbread.

I used to enjoy cooking and baking so much. I really miss it. Many times I would start with a new recipe and change it to suit our tastes.
