Friendship

We don't really have a lot of close friends but those we have we treasure.

The very few close friends l have are members of my church.

I have several casual friends, but only two really ride or die friends.

we live far from each other but we keep in touch a lot

& to rely on when you get old & really NEED a trusting good friend which I have none of.

I have had such a sweet friend in college. After we parted ways and got married, we seldom kept in contact anymore because she was hundreds of miles away. We only connect through FB, and when things get busy, we don't communicate altogether.

I get less friends the older I get. I am not sure how that works. I am not young and foolish anymore, do not play me for a fool.

All of our friends moved away during the pandemic looking for work. I was working during the pandemic at Walmart so had no reason to move. I still "talk" with them through texts but that's it. The people around us now are acquaintances we've met in the last few years and aren't friends. I feel like I have a lot of friends on myLot, though, even if I haven't met them in real life.

I have one friend that I have had for many years. We have daughters the same age, and her son is the same age as my sons. We have shared so much over the years...births, deaths, happiness and sadness, hard times, good times. I trust her with anything, she is one in a million. She loves my kids just like she does her own, and I am the same about hers. I have one other lady I've been friends with a long time, we are close as well, and keep in touch all the time. She isn't well at all, has a multitude of health problems, and I am afraid we will lose her. She's one of the best, too. I do have other friends of various length of friendship and closeness. Friends are important, I agree.

You're absolutely right having even one true friend makes a big difference. As we get older, it does get harder to build deep connections, but those close friendships become even more meaningful. It’s not about how many friends you have, but the quality of the bond. Just having someone you can truly talk to and be yourself around is a gift.
