Animal control officer saves a fawn from drowning in a residential pool

Elizabeth Summerfield who is employed by the Bloomfield Townhip Animal Control is being praised as a savior after she answered an emergency call from a homeowner who saw a fawn who had been under the pool cover and struggling to ger away from danger on Sunday June 15. Elizabeth managed to enter the residential pool and swam under the pool cover to remove the fawn from the water while the mother of the fawn looked on nearby. Link is abc17news.com/news/2025/06/01... Elizabeth was able to make sure that the fawn who had suffered from hypothermia and in shock for being under the residential pool was fully recovered and was reunited with the mother of the fawn,

The women did well, swimming under the pool cover, which is a scary thing to do too. Perhaps it was hard to roll it back first, or she thought there was not enough time to do so. She took a risk, as she could have gotten trapped under there herself too, as the cover usually touches the water surface too, making it hard to swim, and to breathe under.

I wonder how the heck the fawn wound up under the pool cover. I'm sure the mother of the fawn was happy to be reunited with her offspring. Kudos to that woman animal control employee.
