Mykey n Ally were trying so hard not to show how much they were begging

Them nights are gettin longer. Happens every year. And for me it's my memories, most are sweet like the shot above of Mykey and Ally trying not to beg while watching me eat dinner. It was 2012. This video was made with a Nikon d3200 back in 2013, one of my very fond memories that I can share with the world. Have you ever howled with your pups?

Howling contest

. What was Mykey howling at outside the window? One of my dogs used to howl at sirens (from fire engines or cop cars). Ally's face - too funny - whatcha howling at Mom

@rebelann I wonder if sirens sound like howling to dogs - maybe that's a common thing? Or maybe it hurts their ears? Our backyard was pretty close to a busy street - sirens could be heard pretty often. I have to see what fires are going on - I know there are a few but not too locally. I think they are in Riverside County which is far enough from us - but no fire anywhere is fun. Yah, we're safe. The weather is hot here, but not as hot as it could be - so it's still tolerable. How is over there?

I think it's just something some dogs want to sing with, Roscoe does not howl at all and neither did my first 4 dogs. I'm so glad all of you are safe, hopefully they'll put that fire out really soon. It's cooled down nicely here, only been in the mid 80s to 90s lately but then June is our hottest month most of the time.

Yep, and Mykey won that contest. He would howl at any siren near or far and lil miss Ally would chime in, I used to laugh so hard at those two Hey, I saw there's a wild fire close to your area, are you and your family safe?

Cute clip. We have actually never had a dog that has howled so much as one that tried to talk. We talked to her, and she would try to talk back, and when she couldn't, she would jump into your lap like she was a kitten, and would lick your face.

Awww, that sounds so adorable. Mostly I've had non howlers but boy would they bark a lot, I wish I had a talker, that would be fun

@rebelann We had one when I was growing up that tried to talk too. We used to look at her and say ard a var da var, and then she would lie on her back and we'd scratch her tummy. It seemed that was what she was asking for to begin with.

Nope... I've never had dogs except on the farm and they weren't mine. Those were dads. I had cats when I was a kid and into my teenage years until I started having allergic reactions to them... Then the horses started setting off allergic reactions and I stayed away from all animals after that.

That must have been a real bummer. I can't imagine being allergic to kritters, not that that would stop me from having them though.

@rebelann Me being allergic to animals doesn't stop Pretty from loving up on any she finds around us and making me use an epi-pen if I want to keep breathing.
