Working on folding and hanging up the laundry

I have a confession--I RARELY fold my laundry. I do it (wash/dry) on a regular basis obviously but after many years of working at The Gap I simply cannot force myself to fold and hang clothes even 20+ years later. I would agree that it sounds insane but my sister (who is a much better housekeeper than I) is the same way. She won't fold clean laundry--at least hers. It is a real sort of form of PTSD. I started looking for my new bikini last night and couldn't find it in the heaps of clothes on my dresser. I looked again this morning and nothing. So I've been doing short shifts of folding/hanging. I want to wear the new one today at the pool. I'm about half way through the pile and I still haven't found it. I have found that I need to get more hangers though. Wish me luck on Operation Bikini Rescue.

Folding clothes is horrible, and mind numbingly boring. I don't blame you. The only time I fold is when I want to put something in the drawers. I do stick stuff on hangers though when I can.

@NJChicaa I use a wrinkle releaser too when I need to. Dollar General sells a big bottle of it for a couple of bucks.

When I got my shirt at the Jimmy Stewart Museum I folded it at the counter, and the man said, “If you hadn’t told me you were in the military I would’ve known by the way you folded that shirt.” The great thing about my life is that I don’t have a lot of laundry under most circumstances (the exceptions being the winter clothes and bed sheets [and yes, I can fold a fitted sheet]). Glad you found the bikini.

Good luck on the rescue. I have to force myself to put my clothes away after I fold them or I would have far too many of them. I have my husband put his clothes away that I have folded. We bought him 5 new shirts yesterday, so I had better see some old shirts make their way to the rag bag for cleaning or I know that his drawers will be stuffed too full to keep the wrinkles away.

Pretty makes a pile of clean clothes on her bedroom floor and puts dirty clothes in a basket in her room. I fold and hang my clothes, normally, as soon as the dryer shuts off. I don't like wrinkles in my clothing. When Pretty was teens and younger, I hung her clothes on hangers and folded the clothes that go in her drawer and told her to put them away.... I stopped doing that when she came home from college. I do make her keep her bedroom door closed so I don't have to see the mess in her bedroom, though. Have fun finding your bikini.

The clothes will not be looking tidy if you don’t fold them after ironing or laundry. I fold my clothes after laundry if I don’t have to iron them.

Good luck finding the bikini. Fortunately cousin #3 washes and folds my laundry.
