I haven't heard from the headstone people in weeks. Will have to give them a call today (6/23). Weed guy says I should put down some mulch. That's another $$$. I bought a tub of Preen which, with the mulch, should keep down the weeds. The mulch will dress up the flower bed a little. The Preen will also fertilize the flowering plants. Cousin #2 will be coming over today to do the usual. I hope she can set up the new power strip so I can use the microwave. Breakfast - PB&J sandwich Lunch - PB&J sandwich, chips, string cheese Dessert/Snack - Lemon blueberry muffin Dinner - PB&J sandwich, ice cream bar Yes, I know I had 3 PB&J sandwiches -- Couldn't use the microwave. What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Chicken taco for lunch, cheese sammich and hash browns for dinner. Strawberry “sorbet,” fiber, and yogurt!

Well you got to do what you got to do when you can't use a microwave! At least PB&Js are tasty. Hope she can help so you can get your micrrowave back. I had turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy for 1 meal; a burger and tots for the 2nd. Oh, might have had a brownie somewhere in there.

I really hope she makes that a priority, to get your microwave up and going. It seems like everything requires money these days and more and more of it.

Turns out cousin #3 had unplugged the power strip that the microwave was plugged into. Everything is up and running again!

Just be aware that mulch seems to fly in the wind and literally disappear within a few weeks. We used to use it and then turned to crushed tile, it was the right colour and had a bit of weight to it and kept the weeds down.

They suggested landscape rock; but it was very expensive. Where did you get crushed tile?

I had a lot of ice cream for dessert tonight. I found out I like the vanilla better than the chocolate.

I am not familiar with "Preen." I will check that out. You need your microwave to survive. I ate some sausage and bacon and some protein bars yesterday. 5 days no chocolate! FYI - I feel better today finally like a human being. Thank you for asking. Hubby is still sick.

Mulch does help with SOME weed abatement, but you need to have at least 3 inches of it, and you have to do it every single year. AND you'll still have some weeds. As for dinner, it was a hamburger night, or cheeseburger night, depending on how you look at it. We melted Swiss on them and since we didn't have any buns, just had them on regular, toasted bread. On the side I whipped up a batch of tuna/noodle salad. Yummy stuff.

Someone said they used crushed tile. I don't know where they got that from. Someone said the mulch will blow away....It's too expensive to mulch every year. If I could do it myself it would be much cheaper; but I can't.
