The construction guys got here at 9 am and have been working in the attic, getting it ready to have insulation blown into it. I fell asleep while listening to them bump around in the ceiling. I woke up and they were tiptoeing around my bed to reach the attic access in my bedroom closet. I don't know how long they'll be here today but I was glad to see they were taking breaks from being up there. I'm sure the attic is hot. They also set up a small pavilion in the front yard for their machinery and hoses. One guy is drilling holes in the outside walls and the other guy is guiding the hose to blow in insulation. Hopefully, they'll be finished with our house soon. They only have to replace the old storm windows all the way around the house when they finish with the insulation.

Why? I'm not allowed to help them and I'm still sick.

@wolfgirl569 They didn't have to be quiet. I never asked them to and they were banging away in the ceiling above me.

I’m just giggling thinking about grown men trying to tiptoe around you. It was a thoughtful effort!

One of them dropped a board on the edge of my bed... I rolled over to see what happened... He wasn't laughing but I told him it was okay.

I am glad your hands are getting better. Take your time to rest. They sure are considerate tiptoeing so they won't wake you up.

It must be really hot up there, I am glad they take breaks. I wonder how you can sleep with all that noise.

@DaddyEvil - I am so sorry. I am a very bad sleeper, I have always been. I often go to bed exhausted and get up even more exhausted.

@LadyDuck Thanks... I used to be exhausted before I went to sleep and after I woke up but then started using the CPAP machine. I normally sleep well even if I am easy to wake up... I hope they're done in my bedroom. I want to go to sleep without someone in and out of it... They can always talk with Pretty if they need one of us.

It's easy to sleep when I'm exhausted. I'm still not feeling okay from whatever bug I caught, too.

I wish they wouldn't keep taking days off during the week and just get it all done.

@Traceyjayne The workmen were here today but left early. It's hot but still a beautiful day and they were working inside... We do have the AC running.

@DaddyEvil yes , that will be annoying. The workmen doing building work at two houses near my Mom are like that. Weather has been great tioday and no one at either house .

Wow! I could use some insulation and new windows. Unfortunately it's almost $3,000 for each window. They are mostly floor to ceiling. I'm so glad they are doing all of that for you. Hopefully they will be done soon.

@DaddyEvil Construction prices have skyrocketed in the last 6 months to a year. I doubt that's the reason though.

@DaddyEvil I don't get why they didn't replace the doors unless it's because of the cost. That sucks.

When insulation is done you´ll be happy for it. Take it easy. You should be awake during the day while they are there.

Nice of them to try to not wake you. I'm like you: when I know who's here and what they're doing, I'll go back to sleep. I slept through the furnace installation, and I slept through a lot of the roof installation as well!

@DaddyEvil — if they were in the house that would be different. Working outside, I just went back to sleep.

I was exhausted and I knew Pretty was still awake, even if she did have her bedroom door closed all day. I don't really like people being in and out while I'm sleeping.

@DaddyEvil Oh man. I hope you got some decent rest while they were there . . . sometimes they can be bang bang clackity clack loud with what they're doing. But yah, it would be worth enduring for the end results. No, I didn't hear! Well hey, congratulations! It is refreshing to hear good news like this about your living space . . . as you know so many people here seem to be going through misery with theirs. I'm going backwards here, so now I know how all the repair stuff came about. That's fantastic - and I'm so glad for you guys . Things have really come together for you recently .

I was sick part of the time the construction guys were here. I really wish they could go faster with all the projects. But I know when it's all done that we'll save even more money on electricity and gas here. Did I tell you were were finally approved for Section 8? We only pay $145 a month in rent now so we have money we can do other things with now... Then we were approved for OACAC and a grant to fix the house up if the landlady approved it. (Of course she approved it... She's getting needed work done and increasing the value of the house at no cost to her!)
