I hear loud noises outside. Tree branches falling. A wood chipper. Some of the falling branches are from "my" redwood tree. We are too far inland for redwood trees.They take in some of their water from misty ocean air. And their shallow roots systems are helped by the fact that the roots find each other underground. They basically "hold each others' hands" to provide mutual support in a redwood forest. The redwood trees at this complex are 30 yards apart from each other. Probably too far for mutual support. Things have quieted down now. My redwood tree is still standing. We'll see what happens.
