Today is day #4 of this heatwave.
Yesterday afternoon and evening storms rolled through. It brought a slightly cooler front. It is tolerable outside right now, but it is early. The skies are overcast and the sun is not beating down as it has in the days gone by. There could be more little storms coming through during the day today.
The forecast is still for hot, but not heatwave hot, which is expected during summer time.
I will say that my tomato and flower plants have enjoyed this heatwave much more than the person that waters them has.

The electric company is working on the lines on our street. I don't know what they're doing but they cut off our electricity about an hour ago. We were on our battery backup but the electricity is back on now.
We keep hearing heat lightning here but no rain and no clouds... We might get some rain/storms by this weekend, maybe.

A huge tree fell across the street around the corner to our son's neighbourhood.
That street it feel on, has wires going to Wickerson Heights, to supply it with power.
Once it gets to the subdivision, the lines are buried.
That caused them to be without power for about 5 or 6 hours.
He lives on a hill, and they always get brutally hit during storms.

@DaddyEvil It wasn't far from where their lines are buried.
So many people buy generators, but we shouldn't have to.

@Juliaacv We live cattycorner to the power relay station in our city. Most of the electric cables are buried except at the end of our street.

My flower bed looks pitiful, albeit it is now weeded. The weeds have stifled the growth of everything except the hosta. I hope they will recover now that they have room to grow. Stay cool and hydrated!!!!

I'm hoping our heatwave will break by the weekend. It's been brutal and too early for it to be this hot. Hopefully it isn't sign that summer is going to be a scorcher.

For the first time that I know of our city is having outages due to overconsumption of a/c energy during this awful heatwave which is going to get worse by the weekend up to 100F
