She was kidnapped, god knows how. I mean, she would have protested, right? So this morning around 7 am, a car came by, and left her. She has been starving there...refusing to eat, I suppose. Why did they kidnap my streetie? Nobody wants streeties...right? I had a very sad week...and today is Thursday, and I asked Sai Baba, in the morning, its fine if somebody wants to keep her with love and affection, but please do not kill her on the road. And the evening....boy, am I happy.....she has also been bitten ...but....she just wouldn't leave me......was delighted to eat anything I was serving her...it is such a pleasure watching these idiots eat. But I had work, and she is a mature kid...almost 6 years old. Just wanted to let you all know...............you all were with me through the sad moments...you all should share happy moments too.

It is such a relief....heart was filled with remorse. I should have done this, and that. What did I not do...etc.

I'm sad and happy she's back, vanny... Sad that she wouldn't eat and worried whoever hoped she'd make a great pet for them but happy they brought her back to you again.

In a way, whoever took her, was a kind hearted person. Normally, people want expensive breeds. This one is comparatively ordinary mongrel. She is just a dog who is trained for potty, sit, stand, jump, run, quiet, stay, eat...drink...commands like that. People have been watching her being nice with me, so whoever saw her thought she can be taken home without paying anything for expensive dog. Turns out she was not happy there and added to that, they may have had other dogs who bit her ...she showed that to me...yesterday. She is a darling.

The way she was jumping at me, came running to me from far, I feel she achieved almost 10kmph..LOL Our reunion would have been worth recording, just that nobody expected it. LOL. She then walked towards her usual place...each time turning to see if I was following her. Gosh I love her...madly love her. She made all sounds....everybody was looking at us...LOL

@wolfgirl569 I wish that too. She is such a well behaved creature for a street dog. If I go to an old age home, and she is alive, then I will take her with me. I even found an old age home permitting pets. So, I think it should be possible for me to give her a home, but a few years later. For now, dad is allergic to hair shedding, and the building rules do not permit stray dogs.

I too feed street dogs and puppies but in our area those who want pets take away the puppies.

Unlike other parts of the city, out here, most of the dogs are neutered or spayed, and they are also vaccinated for rabies. So I have not seen a puppy for almost six or seven years. However, there are young dogs....which means they have come from somewhere. I am a firm believer in neutering and spaying. We cannot have man competing with animal for food. Hungry pack of dogs will always win, and may even turn into human meat eaters. I am just being pragmatic about it.

@aninditasen My 10 or should I say 11 are neutered or spayed, so aggression is limited. Dogs that are not neutered or spayed tend to be aggressive as do mothers of pups. I feed them chicken liver, in limited quantities. about 750 grams X 3 per week. Change in diet includes rice with some lentil, milk with bread, weekly 4 feet of chicken and idlis and chicken egg kibbles. You would think all this costs me a lot. No.........just about 6000 bucks. The trick is in balancing. LOL My problem most of the time is getting them bowls and clean water. Municipality folks pick the bowls. Or maybe those who do not want these dogs to be fed non veg. But hey, they get so little food most of the time. I feel non veg would help bring down their nutritional requirement. And it is not as if I am giving a lot. Just a little. It is much less than recommended food. Each one of them is nearly 20 kilos. There are 6 of them that are more heavy. A 20 kilo dog needs 400 grams per day. I end up giving about 200 to 250 grams. Mind you, they need about 250 grams proteins everyday, which I am unable to provide. I am just lucky they all are spread out. That enables me to give different dogs different diet each time. As I said, I am not too happy about feeding non veg, but most people are not kind towards dogs. They don't feed them. We cannot have them surviving on just Parle G. Once in a blue moon, fine. Not regularly.

@vandana7 We have some bad dogs by the river side. They are very dangerous and attack human beings.

I have been crying a lot. LOL. She is like the first born kid. Mature and wants to play all the time whenever she sees me. I have already told everybody on the street, they may have any dog they want but this one is mine. If and when I go to an old age home, she is coming with me. :)

She is the most dignified street dog that I have come across. To be fair, there is another old dog too. The way he looks at me, when I feed him, I feel terrible that he is out there and feeding him is all that I can do.

High hopes. I found an old age home where they allow pets. If and when I go there, I am carrying this baby. But I do understand how you feel about her. Without being with her you have felt that much love for her. Thank you. Hugs.

Absolutely. I thought only I was missing her and was absolutely delighted on her arrival. But turns out she was ecstatic too. She was jumping on me, making all sorts of noises, running ahead, returning. Everybody on street was watching...because such shows are so rare. LOL
