Got the New Durango Home!

So the mission today in cleaning out the old car and getting back to the dealer today to pick up my new Durango went well. Boy are there a lot of new features on vehicles these days! My van was a 2021 and this thing has so many more features that it will take me a year to learn them all and remember them! But it drives good and I know that I will enjoy it --much more than the van! My husband picked that thing out and I never liked much about it at all. So my mission today was accomplished! What did you accomplish today? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

Oh, was I supposed to accomplish something today? I’m loading my music onto my new MacBook. About 2,000 songs down, 6,000 to go! Glad you got the new car home, and yes, it’s a major learning curve with a new vehicle!! My best friend had to replace her 2012 car, and oh, the headaches she had from all the updates over the span of 13 years!

I can only imagine with that time span! Mine is 4 years and that is bad enough!

Well, I got trash to the dump and got groceries, brought them all in and put them all away. It was tiring since it was so hot

New cars are so different from the cars that are only a few years old. I am sure you will enjoy.

@wolfgirl569 Yes he will! I just rant to town after hubby went this morning and my odometer was set to km instead of mph. I remembered how to change it, but it would not change back. I finally realized that where I was looking is not where it was going to show changed and it reset correctly, when I quit concentrating on that one area. I had sent him a message asking what he did to wipe out mph . He immediately said he didn't touch that. LOL.

Vehicles have changed that much in that short of a time? I signed the house painter's paperwork. That was my big whoopie today.

@sallypup That was me. Just tell me/show me the features that I need to drive. But of course, he went through it ALL.

@porwest This morning my husband took the car to go get the license plate from the county tax office. I went to town later in it and the MPH had been changed to Km. He swears he did not change it. I tried to change it back but it would not reset, only in Km. I still don't know what I did wrong. The car was in Park, so it should have reset for me. I finally got it and I think the problem was I was looking at he wrong place and that is why it still showed km. Who knows. Seems like it would show on the dash though when you reset it.

I would never be able to adjust to all these new features. They would be so wasted on me!

It is going to take some time here. Last night when my husband was driving he kept activating a beep and we couldn't figure out what it was from. Turned out he was hitting the controls on the steering wheel.

I know what you're saying about all the buttons and bows on the cars nowadays. But one we bought new four years ago didn't have GPS or any kind of CD player, radio, etc. You were supposed to use your phone for all those things.

New law here now that you can get a ticket for just having cell phone in your hand, even if NOT in use.

@JudyEv Correct! But now you can get a ticket whether you were using the phone or not. Just holding one is a violation.

@kareng Most modern cars have somewhere to put your phone so you can use it hands-free.

I haven't accomplished anything yet today. I've been on the computer for almost 3 hours. I guess that's an accomplishment.. It's 4:50 am right now. I'm glad you're happy with the new vehicle.

@LindaOHio We have a busy one on tap. Fixing to knock out errands in next town over and then make a quick run to the flea market. I'm hoping the booth isn't in rambles again.
