The "Pastor Bob Joyce is Elvis" story is a fascinating one regardless of where one stands on whether the pastor could even possibly be Elvis in the ongoing theory of theories that Elvis never actually died in 1977 but faked his death.
The Bob Joyce story does have many coincidences and possibilities. Many of them are actually a bit uncanny that it helps to make his story the most plausible of any I have ever followed.
But of course there's one part to this story that also mixes up the timelines.
Pastor Bob Joyce is reportedly in his 70s, while Elvis would be 90. If the man preaching the sermons every Sunday, and singing his gospel in a very familiar voice is still doing that in 2035...
The story's over. That would make Elvis 100.
Have you ever heard of the Bob Joyce is Elvis theory? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

I heard about that for the first time last year. Interesting. Not possible due to age issues I think.

That's where the story gets interesting, really. It's the two Bob Joyce theory, for one. There's also the age old thought that Elvis entered into the witness protection program. They could have changed his birth certificate when he took on a new identity (more than once by the way). There was the thought he became John Borroughs. Bob Joyce has the same initials, just backwards. The pastor emerged in 2011 out of nowhere right about the time Elvis would have potentially "retired" from the witness protection program. There's his voice, his mannerisms, a familiar scar, he frequently has been sighted at Graceland, sang at Lisa Marie's private service and chose the same song Lisa Marie duetted with Elvis through technology similar to what Natalie Cole did...
It really is a fascinating story. I'm not saying I believe it. I'm just saying it does churn the butter a bit for me.

@LooeyVille If you ever want to go down a fun rabbit hole with it, the Jack Willard guy I posted a link to is fun to explore the possibilities with, including and maybe especially the "series" he did citing the 50 reasons why Bob Joyce could be Elvis.
He's an interesting guy in and of himself. But he makes some good points, even if there always seems to be some white gunk on his lips that can be rather distracting at times. lol

@porwest Yeah, it's definitely possible. Fun to contemplate. And . . . Elvis did start singing Gospel music in the beginning.

This is true of many popular celebrities. Michael Jackson does come to mind. So does Tupac. But the Elvis story has many more possibilities and twists and turns in it that it was always more believable than any of the others. I am in no way saying I believe the stories. I just find this current one quite fascinating.

No, I've never heard that theory... I've always just rolled my eyes at the poor people who want Elvis to be alive so badly that they see him all over the place.
