Why do something that’s clearly stupid?

Not sure on what it’s actually called but there is an enclosure in parking lots where people can drop off the store shopping carts without having to go back to the store to return it. And they can also grab one on the way to the store if any are there. I just saw a video where a female wants to take a shopping cart from there. You’d think she’d grab the first one sticking out and go but no. She wants to take out the one all the way where the barrier is. To make matters worse, instead of getting the other carts out of the way and then grabbing the cart she wants, she climbs onto the barrier, leans into the spot where her desired cart is, and tries to pick it up so she can bring it over the barrier. That doesn’t seem to work so she climbs through the barrier and then struggles to lift the cart. Once she manages to grab on to it and hold it she lifts it over the barrier and puts it on the other side. Then climbs over herself. Why make it hard for yourself when you can make it easy? If this video wasn’t staged and it happened for real I have no words. This girl has lost her mind.
