After your sixth beer, maybe order a pizza

It’s time for another funny sign and this is one which we saw recently. Vince does almost all our cooking and he is not a big fan of barbecuing saying it’s been the ruination of many a good piece of meat. He will mostly cook marinated chicken or pork in foil parcels if we go to a barbecue. I know it’s a popular way to cook in America. In Australia, it’s almost always the men who do the barbecuing and there is usually alcohol involved. According to the sign, if you have time to drink one beer, the meat should be rare; two beers, the meat will be medium, etc. But if six beers are drunk, then it would probably be best to order in a pizza. This seems pretty good advice to me.

I gave away a propane grill and a charcoal grill... I always burned myself, no matter how careful I was working around them... It's easier to just put whatever meat into a foil pan, pour barbecue sauce over it and put it into a timed oven and it tastes delicious.

We rarely ever barbecue. All the house-sits have had barbecues but we haven't used any of them.

@JudyEv I really like barbecued foods, as long as I don't have to cook it.

I have to agree with Vince about barbecuing. If you are drunk, better not even to try to use a barbecue.

@JudyEv It keeps the pieces more moist, that is a plus.

He usually puts a cut of chicken or pork in foil and cooks it like that on the barbecue.

@xFiacre oh dear, sad to hear that people think we all like our meat burnt to a crisp in England ....that's not the case.

It's the men who cook on the bbq in the UK too. I love the sign and it does sound about right to me too.

There are jokes about the women getting everything ready, doing all the salads etc and the men just doing the actual cooking.
