Another very cold day.

I´m watching TV. I have to heat the last of my Chinese food and I eat a piece of a donut every time I go to the kitchen.
I will go to Dixie´s as soon as she can have me. But Humberto has a skin cancer in his face and he has to have a procedure. They are worried because the type of cancer can be those not so good. I´m worried too.
Humberto´s cancers might be due to all the time that he is sailing. I doubt that he has used sun block too much. Besides, sun block is a new thing. I remember when I was a child and was very happy to be a brunette and get a nice tan. My lighter siblings had to hide from the sun as they turned red with it.
Still it seems that we, brunettes, have to take care as much as the lighter skins.
Now I don´t like sun. Winter sun is not warm.

Skin cancer is a concern as we age. I always wear sunblock now as I have very fair skin. Of course when I was very young, sunblock didn’t even exist. We burned and peeled and now we often have to pay the consequences. I hope Humberto gets along fine with it, and that you can see Dixie very soon.

When I was a child I laughed at my light skined siblings because they oeeled. I never did. But I have had 5 skin cancers.

I have had a few myself, on my hand.
My son in law is rather bald, very little hair. About 5 years ago, he went out fishing with his friends and he literally got fried. He was so sick that my daughter and I rushed him to the ER, and they had to admit him for 2 days. The top of his head blistered, his shoulders (no shirt!) his chest, his arms and hands. His head was the worst. 105 fever. He was fortunate to get over it fairly quickly. This past year he had a lesion of some sort on the top of his head, so daughter made him go to the doctor. It was skin cancer and it went very deep, they had to cut away a fairly large chunk of scalp to get rid of all of it. Then it was forever healing. What a mess...he never goes out in the sun now without a hot and sunblock. And he keeps sunblock in both of their vehicles in case they need it when they are out. What a hard lesson that was.

I hope Humberto can get the cancer removed and that's the end of it. Skin cancer is not fun! I've had three skin cancers removed... I'm very light skinned and stay out of the sun as much as I can.

@marguicha Like you, sunblock wasn't a thing when I was growing up... I loved being outside and burned most of my body... My cancers weren't the "good" kind and spread... Now, I try not to go outside before dark. Pretty and I had a lot of fun doing daytime things after the sun went down.

Best of wishes for Humberto.
We were battling 37 C plus mercury and high humidity but now good Pre Monsoon & Monsoon rains mean that we had good relief from the tough high humidity heat.
We are expecting more rains.
Have a nice time ahead !

I´d love to lave 37C instead of the minus 0 we are having here. And I don´t have Central Heating.

Hope they get it all. Most skin cancer is easily controlled if caught early.

I hope so. Dixie was worried that Humberto´s cancer was one of the bad ones. I have had 5 skin cancers but they were all the "good" ones.

I hope Humberto will be OK. I stay out of the sun these days. In my teens we used to bake in the sun without sunscreen. Very bad. Have a good day.

We're immuned with sun ray for we belong to tropical zone. So far no skin burned is felt by those who people who walk under the scorching sun.
