Do you like your phone?

I’m really happy with my phone. Before I had a smartphone, I didn’t know what I was missing. It’s an iPhone X, and it was brand new 4 years ago for only $200. Everybody in my family was able to get that one for that price. I don’t need the latest and greatest, but it IS hard to imagine ever going back to a regular cell phone or to just a landline. Before this one I had a Samsung, and it must have been an older version because its features were not impressive at all. My best friend loves her Samsung, but hers is much newer. Do you like your phone?

I just got the new Apple iPhone 16 in the spring, and I really enjoy the features on it. Plus it is pretty. I choose a blue phone, black phones aren't for me, and they did not have any white ones. I have a nice clear case on it with a clear pop socket with tiny light blue butterflies on it. It looks great.

I think my eyes lit up when you started describing the case and pop socket! I know I would love it!

@AmbiePam I will have to try to take a picture of it on my husband's phone to show you. It is pretty, and I actually get a compliment every single time that I have it in my hand.

Yes, I like my phone. My last phone was very similar to this one, and I really liked that. Why do you like the IPhone so much better than the Android?

Snowy, I may have just had a bad Android and anything would have been better than that Samsung I happened to have. I love the camera more, the graphics, just everything is better. But again, that old Android could very well have been a stinker to begin with.

@snowy22315 I’m really lucky I got mine for $200. Because my BIL and sister will pay big bucks, but my dad and I won’t. The prices are stupid.

@AmbiePam Well, I guess people pay big bucks for IPhones for a reason.

My phone is not new, it's a Huawei and it's an excellent phone. This company was banned in the US, surely too good, they feared the competition.

@LadyDuck It’s hard not to be threatened by China when China really does hate you. Granted, plenty of countries hate us currently due to the administration, but you just have to talk to the missionaries that come back from China to know what they are capable of. Not to mention what actual government intelligence says. Other countries might try to make it sound like overreacting, but there is too much evidence on the contrary. It goes beyond a simple phone. I also thought everyone believed what Joe Biden said (wink wink).

So that’s what that phone is! I take surveys and when it gets to the question of what phone are you using, a Huawei is always an option. But I’ve never met anyone even online with that brand of phone. Intrigued, I just looked and it says Joe Biden’s concerns about the Chinese developed technology from that brand might be used to spy on the U.S. led to the ban. That’s why they don’t allow TikTok on government devices now too. And with the discovery of that Chinese spy balloon here, I can understand why it was banned here.

@AmbiePam - Of course often it's better to declare an excuse to ban something instead of being accused of protectionism. Of course no one published later that the balloon was NOT a spy balloon. Forensics of the wreckage confirmed that the balloon's sensors had never been activated while it was flying over the continental US, and so it did not transmit any intelligence back to China.

Yes, I do. It has the biggest battery made for a phone. I only need to charge it once in two or three days, no matter how I use it. (I mostly use my phone to read books with occasional phone calls or text messages with friends.) It takes great photos (I have to cut them down for myLot to accept them.) and I can add MicroSD cards to increase the onboard storage. (The current MicroSD card is 256 GB.) Currently, I still have 12 GB free of onboard storage. I know I still have GBs of online storage available because I've never used any of it. Yes, I have a good Android phone. No crappy iPhone for me!

@DaddyEvil I did tell him he explained things in a more simple way than my BIL, and he cluelessly said, yeah, your BIL is kind of nerdy, isn’t he. I didn’t want to burst his bubble so I just smiled. But really, what is that old “joke”? Nerds shall inherit the earth…

@AmbiePam Sometimes I just want to talk tech! I wasn't trying to impress you. I've had to help so many people with bad iPhones that I'll never switch.

@AmbiePam When customers asked for help and their eyes lost the shine, I knew I was going into too much detail and trimmed the talk back to a more basic level.

I have a Galaxy S22 and it's okay, but my battery doesn't seem to last long. Some of our kids have Androids and some have iphones, but I don't want to learn a new operating system.

Vicki, you’re smarter than I am, so if you ever do have to switch, it won’t take long for you to get the hang of it. That being said, I’m always nervous about having to learn new operations systems too.

Mine is an iPhone and I like it. Previously, I had a Samsung and it was easier for me to navigate it. Someone stole it though so, I was gifted by my son with this iPhone and I liked it so far as well.

My phone turning out OK , Trac phone, unless you poor like me do not get one. It seems to upload all kinds of crazy apps, but I just needed it for pass codes because corporate America swears you need a phone so they can protect you. I think they made me less safe, but at least they see what I am using it for and so far very fair in price, even though would be more fair if you did not make me get one.

My phone is spying on me. It was on the arm of my sofa, and I hadn’t touched it for an hour. My dog is in my lap, and having to move my dog to get up I said, “I’m so sorry to have to move you.” Out of nowhere my phone replies, “It’s okay.”

I just feel like people afraid to get a smartphone would be so happy if they finally got one. Just a basic smartphone would change so much for them.

iPhone 13 user here, no regrets. It cost me $800 when I got it, but in terms of Swagbucks money and OfferUp acquisitions and odd jobs acquired through having reliable phone communication, it’s paid for itself by now.

Yes, up until it began constantly freezing. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than my last phone whencalls wouldn't go through and messages didn't show up until hours after the person sent it.
