The Magic Touch

Yesterday our granddaughter, Harper, sliced open one of her big toes on a sharp edge to a flat stone.
She bled quite a bit and cried alot.
Our daughter-in-law took her to the ER at the hospital to have it looked at since they could not control the bleeding. They fixed her up and sent her home after she came out of the sedation.
This evening our son and his wife are delivering their old dryer to someone that they know that just fled an abusive relationship. She lives in another town.
They have asked me to come over and watch the girls while they are gone.
Right now I have some cupcakes that I just took out of the oven. If memory serves me correctly, children feel better much quicker with a freshly baked cupcake, made especially for them. And their twin sister will feel better too. I hope that this will be the magic touch so that they will settle at bedtime and go down easily for me.

Homemade cookies worked best to get Pretty to settle down at bedtime for me. Chocolate chip to be precise.
I hope the girls are doing well and having a good day.

@DaddyEvil I used to sneak mine after supper, the rule was nothing after supper until morning at our house.

@Juliaacv Mom just let us run until we fell asleep. Then she'd have one of the bigger boys put us in bed.

They are lucky to have you so they can do other stuff. Kids are lucky too. Grandmas make things better.

Poor Harper..I think one of nanny's cupcakes might just do the trick. Did she have to get stiches?

I'm sure those cupcakes will help a lot with consoling the girls. I'm guessing Willow is nearly as upset as Harper.

I agree with you. It's such "magic touch" to make kids happy by providing their favorite snacks as what we're doing with our 3-year old granddaughter.
