I woke up with extra aches and pains today and have not done much so far. l did take a nap and get them pretty well under control, though.
This is Independence Day in the USA and is usually celebrated with food, fun and fireworks. So I am working on the food. It is hot, we do NOT want to be outside. But it is supposed to rain in an hour or two (hence the aches and pains)
Menu tonight is scalloped potatoes with ham, baked beans, green salad, and of course PEACH COBBLER. Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream was our lunch.
Of course my feeds on all the websites are now presenting me with peach cobbler recipes. They are all pretty much the same.
Since some of my pain is in my hands, I have the paraffin spa turned on and will give myself a treat. I am baffled about the sore hand because it is not the one I use the mouse with or peeled peaches with, or anything. It hurt when I went to bed last night and most of today. It is much calmer now, though.
So everybody be happy and safe and celebrate if you want or need to. We will for sure.

We just hung around the house, enjoyed the food. I will be in bed before it is dark enough for the fireworks to look their best.

I consider scallopped potatoes to be a hot dish for when the weather is cool. Lately, some of the time I have been making them in the microwave, and they are quite delicious.

Yes, all the evening cooking was in the microwave. We have not had a hot meal since Monday. The peach cobbler was baked in the oven early, and it still made the house hot for a while. We enjoyed our meal.

I'm glad the aches and pains are under control now... I wonder what you did to make the other hand hurt like that?
Your lunch sounds divine! Your supper menu sounds even better! If you had said something earlier, maybe a group of us could have come over and helped you eat the cobbler.

I am not going to be awake long enough to watch fireworks, unless I pull some up online to watch. My body often baffles me, but glad for some home treatments that help.

@GardenGerty I slept through the fireworks here until a few minutes ago. I woke up really hungry so got up to microwave some steamed veggies and grabbed the last of the fresh cherries from the fridge.

It really tasted good. We have been mostly eating light foods, not full meals.

I am so sorry for your sister. I was hoping this would clear up since I am not pushing a wheel chair all day. It is better, but some days one or the other thumb will hurt.

I think I will look for online fireworks and then go on to bed. Bob is watching a car show on TV. The meal was mostly because I was hungry and we have hardly eaten anything good all week.
