I am having some organic 100 percent Arabica Guatamalan coffee this AM. I found this little gem in the discount bin at the grocery store. It is whole bean, and I don't think too many people grind their coffee. In fact, I don't know when the last time I did was, I wasn't too sure I had a coffee grinder even, but fortunately I located it without too much trouble. Do you ever use whole bean coffee? Do you own a coffee grinder? I suppose this could be used for spices too.

@popciclecold My neurologist recommended magnesium glycinate, and when I saw it in a coffee I thought it was the perfect combo.

When I was in my twenties, I drank coffee and, sometimes, would splurge on different types of coffee. My first wife would get sick if she smelled coffee brewing so I gave it up. After she and I got divorced, I tried drinking coffee again and it upset my stomach... *shrug* I really don't miss it.

Yes, I buy ground coffee 99 percent of the time. However, now that I have located my grinder I don't have to be afraid to buy whole bean.

Great choice of coffee bean methinks
My coffee machine, my pride and joy coffee machine, my Jura Intensa Bean to Cup coffee machine broke.
Beyond repair.
I do not own a coffee grinder - it is part of the bean to cup machine which is broken beyond repair
A new machine would cost £1000
But the old one lasted 10 years and on average would make 20 mugs of coffee per day
I fairly used a lot of beans

When I was a kid there were A&P grocery stores around. They featured a giant grinder, roaster in the coffee section. It smelled amazing. I once or twice took a bean leftover that hadn't been processed and tasted it. I was always surprised it was bitter, and not delicious like the smell.

I've never been brave enough to taste a bean leftover.
The smell though is one of the best smells that there is

@Ineeddentures It sure is especially with a big machine like that. It just permeated the aisle, and half the store. There is a coffee station in one of the local hospitals here that has that smell. I really wanted some coffee the last time I was there, but it was hot, and I had a ride waiting for me.

I have a couple of grinders. Yes, I use them for spices. We have at times received beans as gifts at the holiday. I do not mind grinding and brewing. I just have to be careful not to grind it too fine.

I haven't had a cup of coffee in almost 2 years. Hubby used to make me a cup of instant decaf in the afternoon with something sweet. I miss that.

Why don't you get a Keurig and put it by your chair, and make some for your self as a treat everyday? Not the same, but its a new normal for you.

@snowy22315 I have a coffeemaker that hubby never used. I would need coffee, creamer, sugar, water; and I don't have room for it anyway. I will wait for that kindly elderly man to make me coffee again. lol
